Job Summary

Inter-Con is seeking a Junior Corporate Attorney with approximately one year of experience post-law school. As a Junior Corporate Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support to our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that our business operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments and contribute to the achievement of our company's goals. This role will focus primarily on contracts, including review, revision, and identifying issues that may be unacceptable or legally problematic. The Junior Corporate Attorney will report to the Assistant General Counsel and work actively with the entire management team and all corporate departments including Compliance, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Contracts.


Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be predominantly contract-focused, familiarity with general legal requirements and tasks is also valuable. Knowledge of employment law or corporate legal matters would be advantageous. The role involves contract review, negotiation, administration of various contracts (including client, vendor, and union contracts), and management of additional legal matters as they arise, administrative, and litigation matters as appropriate, from inception to resolution under supervision. This position will require an exercise of judgment and discretion in the following Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contracts, and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and corporate policies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess and manage legal risks associated with business operations.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation and arbitration.
  • Stay updated on changes in corporate laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to the organization.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies and initiatives.


This position is hybrid, with four (4) days per week in Pasadena’s corporate headquarters, with the possibility of full time in office as business needs change.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing corporate law.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law and regulation.
  • Candidate must possess strong organizational, project/process management, written and verbal communication skills including investigative interviewing skills, research and writing skills, as well as the ability to develop strong working relationships within the organization, including senior management.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, inquisitive, communicative, responsible, and reliable.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, and experience with SharePoint and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited and excellent law school;
  • In good standing with the California bar.
