The Role
Directed Trust Company and The Mat Sorensen Brand need a Junior Video Editor/Videographer with a passion for storytelling through video that can help us grow our presence on YouTube, Instagram, and more.
This role will primarily focus on editing long-form videos for YouTube and creating engaging short-form content for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will have experience with various social media formats and be comfortable editing in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
**IMPORTANT** Our #1 priority is finding someone capable of editing video at or above the quality currently seen on Mat’s YT Channel and TikTok. All applicants must show proof of ability.
Location
While this role is flexible and can be remote, hybrid, or in-office—we require that you join us in-office (Phoenix, AZ) at least twice a month for training or to help film content in our studio. (3033 N Central Ave, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85012)

70k+Followers - Mat Sorensen’s Brand (LI, Insta, TikTok, YT, FB, Private FB Group). Mat is the CEO of DIRA, is a best-selling author, national speaker, and attorney. Helping grow his personal brand will be the majority of your workload. Our team is in the podcast studio twice a week filming long/short-form content that you will help edit.
10k+ Followers - Directed IRA(LI, FB, YT, Insta, Podcast). A lot of the content Mat films in studio is also used for our business accounts.
700k+ Followers – Mark J. Kohler (Mark is a co-founder of DIRA and has his own marketing team separate from ours. You will not be editing content for his platforms but will need to be familiar with him and his audience. Mat and Mark co-host two podcasts together.)
Key Responsibilities
Video Editing: Edit long-form videos for YouTube, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards and align with our brand style.
Short-Form Content: Create and edit short-form videos for social media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok.
Videography: Assist in filming video content, including setting up cameras, lighting, and audio equipment (both in studio and at our events).
Live Production: Help set up and shoot live webinars and podcasts, ensuring smooth and professional production.
Content Management: Organize and manage video files, including raw footage and final edits.
Creative Input: Contribute fresh ideas for video content and stay up to date with the latest trends in video editing and social media.
Thumbnails & Subtitles: Create eye-catching thumbnails and add subtitles to videos as needed.
Working with our team: We currently have a senior editor and social media manager on site. You’ll need to coordinate with them throughout the week on content, goals, and deadlines.
Required Experience
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere is required.
Basic knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop is a plus.
Familiarity with all social media video formats and trends.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
A creative mindset with a passion for video content creation.
Not Required, But Appreciated
Experience in our industry: Finance, retirement accounts, investing, wealth building, real estate.
Any graphic design experience (psd, canva, figma), thumbnails, logos, ads, flyers, etc.
