Who We Are Looking For:
Populous is seeking a talented attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence, shareholder management, and subsidiary management.
This role requires a proactive legal professional with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience who can effectively manage governance-related matters and support the company’s strategic objectives.
What Your Day Could Consist Of:
Provide general legal, corporate, commercial, and compliance support for the company’s activities.
Oversee/administer parent and subsidiary entity management, corporate records, and related corporate housekeeping and compliance.
Assist in overseeing company’s equity incentive plan, shareholder communications, and other shareholder governance as required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform due diligence for potential M&A transactions and to assist with integration and compliance post-acquisition.
Develop and deliver training programs on corporate governance and compliance topics.
Provides corporate legal support and other related duties as requested.
Essential Qualifications:
Bar qualification in Missouri or ability to become licensed to practice law in Missouri.
Ideal candidate will have three or more years’ experience in corporate governance, M&A due diligence, and related legal matters, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting
Sound business judgment, clear communication skills and strategic thinking with a consultative approach.
Flexibility, initiative and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
Hard working, problem-solving, detail-oriented and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills and team-oriented
Additional details:
Must be able to reliably commute to Kansas City, MO (64112) or plan to relocate before starting work.
Occasional overtime may be required.
