About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Manager, Legal Affairs & Intellectual Property to join our team. In this critical role, you will oversee a broad range of legal issues, coordinate external counsel, and champion the company's intellectual property portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to leadership and various departments on contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Manage assigned tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring efficient project completion.
  • Oversee all aspects of the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and intellectual property licenses, ensuring alignment with company interests and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring cost-effective and efficient legal representation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks associated with company activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory changes impacting the company and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Represent the company in interactions with external parties regarding legal matters.
  • Manage legal budgets and resources within the department.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to foster a cohesive working environment.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and organized legal filing system.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a strong focus on intellectual property and commercial transactions.
  • Proven experience in managing legal matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing legal advice.
  • In-depth understanding of intellectual property law, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and legal software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range $175K to $190K
