Managing Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior leader with a strong background in the events or festivals/outdoor events sector, to work for a market leading supplier to the industry based in Las Vegas or Georgia. location could be flexible for the right candidate.

The role of MD requires someone who can lead the US business to the next level and reach its huge potential for growth, whilst maintaining excellence in delivery. They want an entrepreneurial business leader with a strong operational and commercial background, to grow the US office of this international business.

Responsibilities include:

• Setting the company's strategic direction and long-term goals in collaboration with the board of directors or stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing high-level strategies to achieve the organization's objectives
• Monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities or threats.
• Overseeing daily operations of the company and the work of executives (such as CFO, COO, etc.) to ensure goals are met and resources are effectively allocated.
• Reviewing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and profitability.
• Making key decisions for operational activities and investment in new initiatives.
• Managing day-to-day operations of the company.
• Monitoring performance metrics and operational efficiency.
• Implementing operational best practices.
• Leading and motivating a team of senior executives and department heads.
• Developing and mentoring key talent within the organization.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, customers, and partners.
• Representing the company in public forums and industry events.
• Ensuring the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Overseeing corporate governance and ethical practices.
• Acting as the primary spokesperson for the company.
• Communicating effectively with the board of directors, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
• Driving innovation within the company to maintain competitiveness.
• Managing organizational change effectively.
• Monitoring and evaluating overall company performance against goals and objectives.
• Implementing improvements as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
• Developing long-term strategies and plans for sustainable growth.
• Anticipating future trends and challenges in the industry.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of business management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
• 10 years’ experience in the Event and Exhibition industry.
• An understanding of the Outdoor events industry would be useful
• Proven experience in managing a team.
• Strong familiarity with management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of project and management development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices.
• Experience overseeing multi-function project teams in multiple locations.
• Effective problem-solving skills in a high-energy environment.
