Market Segment Manager - DoD Electronics - REMOTE


DESCRIPTION:

The Market Segment Manager-Defense Electronics will define, communicate and drive the successful execution of the business strategy and plan for the Defense and Aerospace Market Segment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive execution of a worldwide business plan consistent with overall strategic growth plans. The plan should be based off of an understanding of the following areas – formal market mapping of the segment, industry and regulatory roadmaps, segment value chain, key customers and their value drivers, company capabilities (either present or required)
  • Drive and ensure compliance with strategic marketing process for Defense and Aerospace segment.
  • Determine and prioritize solution roadmap for the segment. Responsible for defining the product mix and positioning strategy. Accountable for definition of CTQ parameters required to deliver value to the customer base.
  • Develop strategic level relationships with key customers, partners and industry experts that can be leveraged to improve competitive position.
  • Define customer focus and acquisition strategy based off of an understanding of ACS Right to Win.
  • Competitive intelligence, manage collection and assessment of competitive information and market trends. Identify and assess new competitors in current or in new market areas. Develop appropriate competitive strategies.
  • Consult on pricing strategy for key customers in the segment.


BACKGROUND PROFILE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Science in electrical engineering; OR Marketing degree with experience marketing highly technical products
  • 7-10 years product marketing (or combination of product marketing and technical sales experience) in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Significant Global experience in a Business Development role
  • Proven track record of building and leading effective teams in a matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical capabilities, able to distill data into actionable insights and communicate to a global organization.
  • Knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense Market and key members of the value chain
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence without direct managerial authority
