Job Summary

Consumer Cellular is one of the most established operators of cellular phone service in the U.S. As a disruptor in the wireless space, Consumer Cellular has been offering simple, affordable, no-contract plans and phones primarily to adults 50+ for over 25 years. To continue growing our 4 million+ customer base, we are looking for a self-starter to join the Marketing Team.

The Marketing Intern will play an important role in managing various executional needs for the marketing team across multiple partnerships (AARP, USAA, RFK Racing/ NASCAR, USA Pickleball sponsorship, and others), media channels (search, social, display, video, direct mail, email, etc.), and events. Core functions include communicating and executing marketing projects with internal teams and partners.

This will be an important position within the marketing team, requiring strong organizational and collaborative skills as well as demonstrated aptitude for managing the details.

To be successful as the Marketing Intern, the candidate should be willing to learn in a hands-on capacity, working with all forms of media and the ability to facilitate the launch of new campaigns, analyze results, and handle multiple projects at a time. This role requires a candidate that is a self-starter, works well with others, is willing to prove themselves and wants to jump-start their career. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and a self-motivated multi-tasker.

This role will report to the VP of Partner Marketing and Development. They will also work closely with internal colleagues and external partners. This position will be located in Scottsdale, AZ.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Communicating and executing marketing projects with internal teams and partners
  • Managing marketing programs and projects
  • Interfacing with agencies and partners regarding asset requirements/specifications and execute projects as required
  • Assisting with daily administrative duties
  • Monitoring partners and competitors for trending news, ideas, and feedback
  • Preparing detailed promotional presentations
  • Helping with the planning and hosting of marketing events including wireless activations at sponsored events across the country.
  • Researching and evaluating partner and competitor marketing and digital content.
  • Contributing to the creation of mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Current enrollment, or recent degree in an undergraduate course for marketing, communications, or in a similar field
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and social media platforms
  • Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques
  • Ability to use Excel to forecast and analyze campaign metrics
  • Demonstrate ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions and use sound judgment
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume work environment and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work and stay connected with various internal and external cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
