Develop and maintain an inventory plan based on sales forecasts, production schedules, and historical usage
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and ingredients to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent production delays
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
Procurement Coordination:
Collaborate with the purchasing team to place orders for raw materials promptly
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement of materials
Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements
Production Scheduling:
Work with the production team to create and adjust production schedules based on material availability
Ensure that all materials are delivered to the production floor in the correct quantities and at the appropriate times
Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or production capacity
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and deliveries using the company’s ERP or MRP system. - Generate reports on inventory status, order fulfillment, and production efficiency
Analyze data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning processes and reduce costs
Implement best practices for inventory management and procurement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve overall supply chain efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or procurement, preferably in the food manufacturing industry
Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills:
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP)
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP)
Working Conditions:
Office and production floor environments
Occasional travel to supplier sites or other company facilities
