National Sales And Marketing Director

Summary of the Position:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that align with the company’s objectives and drive profitable revenue growth. This role is critical in leading the US sales and marketing teams, integrating global initiatives, and ensuring regional success. The position reports directly to the President and is based in Plymouth, MN.


Principal Responsibilities:

1. Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable (LMA):

  • Develop, communicate, and execute a sales and marketing strategy aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate your teams to improve performance, develop skills, and achieve targets.
  • Regularly interact with customers and customer facing staff to validate the effectiveness of strategy, execution, and resource allocation.
  • Manage the sales operating system, including CRM systems, reporting, and sales processes.

2. Strategic Revenue Growth:

  • Identify and pursue new product and market opportunities.
  • Implement plans to generate market awareness and maintain a healthy pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage high level company growth campaigns.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals with major clients.
  • Create and implement a sales process and operating system.

3. Forecasting & Reporting:

  • Consistently forecast sales pipeline activities to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports on sales performance, market trends, and campaign effectiveness for executive review.
  • Monitor and manage company pricing policies to optimize gross margins.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of the department’s budget.

4. Marketing Management:

  • Develop approaches to generate awareness and interest in the company’s products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and align sales and marketing plans.
  • Execute plans to ensure a consistent flow of new pipeline opportunities.
  • Equip the sales team with tools and differentiators for success.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an industrial B2B environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience with being customer focused - strong commitment to field observation, customer satisfaction, and relationship building.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate sales and marketing teams.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, decision making, delegation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic mindset with an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle stress and maintain a professional demeanor.
