Physicist – Radiation Oncology

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic seeks a Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our growing radiation oncology program. This staff position was created for our main campus facility in the heart of Houston. The candidate will join a team of 5 other physicists (1 chief, 4 staff), 5 dosimetrists, and 5 radiation oncologists, supporting 3 sites overall. A fourth site expansion is planned soon. If you like urban living, we have it all. You can pick downtown, midtown, uptown, the Galleria, the museum district, Astros, Texans, and Dynamos. It is all close!

Requirements

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include all aspects of contemporary radiation oncology physics pertaining to 3D/4D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS/SRT, and SGRT treatment modalities. This includes recurring quality assurance, clinical duties, acceptance testing, and commissioning new systems (predominately software and upgrades). Treatment planning expertise with SRS is not required but preferred. No brachytherapy is currently offered (however, expansion at another future clinic is a possibility). Kelsey-Seybold provides state-of-the-art equipment and integration via Citrix in an all-Varian environment (4 Truebeam 3.0, 1 Edge 3.0, ARIA/Eclipse 15.6 with a planned upgrade to 18, Velocity, Dose Lab, Portal Dosimetry) with a full inventory of advanced QA systems (Radformation, Sun Nuclear, IBA) and OEM support contracts. SGRT is done with AlignRT on all linacs. CT simulators include 1 GE RT590 and 2 Siemens go.Open.Pro units. This position is also approved for up to one day per week of work from home.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have an MS or PhD in Medical Physics or a closely related field, graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency, board certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics (or equivalent), and a minimum of three to five years of current full-time experience. The position requires licensure in the state of Texas.
