Paint Process Engineer

Requirements:
Knowledge / Qualification: Bachelor or Master degree with experience.
Previous Experience (If relevant): 5 years in paint field or chemistry or process in automotive industry. Have already participated in project organization.
Key technical competencies: Knowledge of paint process development for liquid paint application on Class A surfaces in the Automotive Industry. Measurement of color, structure, paint defects.
Job Duties:
Accept full responsibility for paint development project (cost, timing, quality)
Leads the paint development achieving expected quality level (vs OEM’s specs) at committed cost (paint consumption, paint scrap, # parts per mast, scrap rate…)
Coordinates a cross-functional team (plant, paint setting, laboratory, supplier, customer…)
Ensures that paint process (product/process) is stable in terms of quality
Work packages: Jig cost and quality, PPAP, Scrap, Paint Productivity
MCI (Manufacturing Convergence Indicator)
Manages technical relationships with paint raw material suppliers (paint product validation through)
Develops paint charter for paint supplier
Assists the PQL for paint validation.
Drives the jigs development from CAD design to final acceptance on site (including prototype phase) Validates paint range / process / customer specifications (mechanical & aspect). Proposes and coordinates specific means realization (jigs, masking).
Proposes and coordinates path programming development.
Drives and coordinates the paint trials, quality evaluation if trial parts and proposes modification of paint application to achieve a robust paint process with met customer quality of the parts.
Takes part to run@rate (process validation)and report performance level and necessaries improvements
Coordinates and drives customer buy off of painted product (PPAP process)
Participates in color harmony events with customer
Ensures scrap convergence to scrap target for every part style and color
Proposes to the plant continuous improvement plan. Capitalize & compare / initial quotation.
