The Production Manager role is essential to ensuring a quality learning experience for all our students, being responsible for the smooth execution of the College’s programs and courses on our learning management, order processing, and portal systems as well as the print process for our textbooks. This role manages both the CFFP production and editorial teams and collaborates with faculty and staff at the College and across Kaplan North America shared services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinated placement of CFP education program, professional designation programs, and graduate classes on learning management systems, portals, website, and order processing systems, provisioning our programs to our students. This involves seeing each course and program build through an entire project cycle, building relationships and collaborating with multiple teams responsible for various stages in the course and program builds, and holding each accountable for deadlines vital to the timely provision of educational systems and materials.
  • Oversee the editorial team and ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient creation of textbooks, assessments, and other supplementary educational materials for instructors and students.
  • Coordinate quality control of courses and program builds on learning management systems, portals, and order processing systems to facilitate accurate delivery of courses, programs, materials, and systems experiences for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Critically assess and improve production and editorial processes to enhance efficiencies and reduce errors and poor user experience for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Communicate stages of production processes and changes to courses to stakeholders, via email, presentations, and project management software and documentation, to ensure all are aware and able to effectively support students and clients.
  • Serve as an administrator of the Canvas learning management system, leading the College in building and managing courses and programs on Canvas and gathering key assessments and information about student engagement in the LMS for analysis by relevant teams.
  • Provide faculty and staff guidance on the capabilities of the College’s learning management systems as they propose course and functional changes. This may include guidance on the effective integration of other educational technology tools within the LMS.
  • Build, maintain, and update documentation associated with course and program builds, system functionality, and production and editorial processes.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and development opportunities to the production and editorial teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, business, educational technology, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • 2 years of project management, systems/information management, higher education, instructional design, educational research, higher education, or business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into solvable pieces
  • Proven ability to build relationships, lead teams, and work collaboratively across divisions and departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, educational research, project management, systems/information management, instructional design, business or in a related field with relevant experience

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is a Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $202,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
