Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Recruiting Specialist supports the San Francisco office recruiting efforts assisting with new hire paperwork, training calendars, social events and various logistics for the Summer Associate Program; providing support scheduling interviews and tracking law school and lateral candidates; assisting with law school visibility events and outreach; providing administrative support to the Northern California Diversity committees; and coordinating on-boarding and training programs for our New Lawyers Group. The Recruiting Specialist may also be asked to fulfill special projects for the recruiting department as needed.


The Recruiting Specialist will interact daily with our partners and associates, summer associates and various Firm and law school administrators. Successful candidates will possess excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, the ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships, and be invested in providing a first-rate recruiting experience for all parties involved in the recruiting and onboarding process.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a law firm or professional services recruiting department strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within and outside of the Firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using web-based databases, and data reporting and virtual platforms.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.


Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting pay scale for this San Francisco position is $70,000 - $85,000.


Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
