School-Based Program Supervisor

Position Summary: We seek a passionate and dedicated School-Based Program Supervisor to care for our community’s most vulnerable children and continually improve the systems that support their healing and growth. The Program Supervisor position entails clinical and supervisory responsibilities, including coordination, oversight of clinical services, outreach, and training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychotherapeutic clinical care and case management per DBHDS and DMAS regulations.
  • Develop and implement Individual, Family, and Group treatment interventions.
  • Provide direct therapeutic care, manage a caseload, and handle clinical duties such as group therapy and case collaboration.
  • Maintain compliance with funding source regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure team members maintain a full caseload and meet monthly and yearly production expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicaid, and professional standards.
  • Review clinical notes of team members and collaborate with the Quality Assurance Supervisor to monitor compliance and identify training needs.
  • Work under the direction of the Program Manager and collaborate with the senior clinical management team.
  • Report clinical and other concerns to your supervisor and management team.
  • Coordinate and maintain referrals, conduct intake assessments, and diagnoses.
  • Assist with crisis coordination and provide case consultation and clinical oversight as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure client care follows policy and procedure.
  • Maintain certifications in behavior management training, CPR, and First Aid, and fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Represent ChildSavers positively and professionally, participate in meetings, and collaborate with community partners such as Children’s Mental Health Resource Center, Local Human Rights Committee, Richmond Promise Neighborhood, and Trauma Informed Community Network.
  • Adhere to all ChildSavers policies and complete assigned tasks, including administrative projects necessary for program success.
  • Manage team members related to schedule management, production goal attainment, review of clinical notes, and productivity and financial goals.
  • Support in hiring and onboarding new staff and provide supervision for student interns.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Leadership skills and 2 years of supervisory experience and/or 4 years of clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of state policies, laws, and regulations for mental health services in Virginia.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field with at least eight years post-licensure experience, preferably working with children from a Trauma-Informed Care Perspective.
  • Experience in outpatient therapy, psychiatry, on-call community support, psychoeducational groups, and mental health consultation. Specializations include art therapy, sand tray therapy, play therapy, family therapy, and CBT.
  • Ability to provide supervision and training towards specialized certifications; Registered Play Therapist Supervisor preferred.
  • Licensed by the Board of Health Professions to practice in VA (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) with a minimum of five years’ experience supervising clinicians.
  • Valid, current Commonwealth of VA Driver’s License and insurable to drive a company vehicle.
  • Additional requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods while delivering telehealth sessions.
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork, including speaking, listening, and using communication devices.
  • Cognitive demands include complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
