Senior Accountant

AT A GLANCE:

Broad River Retail is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for all areas relating to general accounting. This position must have a good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Must be able to handle tight deadlines and a multitude of tasks. The Senior Accountant will have contact with many levels of management, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

**Must be located on Central or Eastern Time Zone to attend virtual meetings with the team who are based in EST.**

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER:

• Prepares journal entries through compiling and analyzing information.
• Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations.
• Recording prepaid assets and amortizing expenses.
• Assist in payroll accounting.
• Recording debt activity and amortizations.
• Property tax accounting and management of tax bills received.
• Recording transportation expenses and allocations.
• Record monthly donations paid for by company.
• Intangible asset accounting.
• Preparation and analysis of Profit and Loss accounts for each month.
• Manage status and expiration of contracts within company.
• Assist with ASC 842 lease administration through LeaseQuery software.
• Assist in Occupancy costs analysis and accruals.
• Track capital expenditure project status and spending.
• Assist with preparing depreciation records for yearly tax returns.
• Ad hoc analysis and other projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Masters or CPA is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years minimum experience
• Highly accurate and detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and look-ups.
• Excel in a team environment with cross functional groups
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to travel to stores occasionally
• Valid Driver's License including a favorable driving record
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment in an office setting
