The Senior Accountant role is a key SME for the revenue, billing and cost structure of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain an understanding of the company products and programs relative to their impact on revenue transactions and the application of GAAP / ASC 606
Continuously assess and enhance the revenue and billing accounting processes to streamline efficiency and accuracy
Analyze complex transactions and contracts to determine appropriate recognition treatment across revenue, commissions, various deferrals
Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes, including account reconciliation preparation, and preparing/posting journal entries
Conduct in-depth analyses of various accounts, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential issues. Lead the balance sheet substantiation process quarterly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and support strategic decision-making
Ensure billing is consistent with terms of customer agreements.
Provide feedback on ways to optimize and accelerate cash collection from customers across the O2C cycle.
Prepare and analyze various financial reports providing insights to management and investors.
Skills, Experience, and Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Masters degree and/or CPA license preferred
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced / expert Excel skills
Experience with ASC 606 / 805 / 842 preferred
3-5 years of fast paced accounting experience, preference will be given to candidates with public accounting experience, M&A environments or high growth companies
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills utilizing professional skepticism
Experience in technology and/or telecom-related sectors preferred
Work Environment:
The finance team is on-site and consolidating operations into a SLC, UT location. The head of Finance and Sales are both based from this location helping to grow their teams.
