Senior Director, Business Transformation - Global

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role reports directly to the SVP HRIS Transformation (based in New York) and will engage as the lead program manager and business transformation partner on corporately defined and executive management supported programs over a length of time. The role will work with other IPG Corporate Departments, Information Technology (GIS), senior management at agencies both globally and across the regions, global agency support teams, external consultants, as well as Interpublic Corporate Leadership.

A seasoned and mature leader with significant business transformation and program management experience, ideally with experience in operational re-engineering and business analysis. This individual will have experience in gathering and evaluating operational information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for aligning and overseeing a comprehensive program management structure to align and work with existing IPG functions dependent upon the initiatives being supported.
  • Oversee the formalization of key initiatives within strategic program efforts and support related corporate and agency priorities; manage the ownership and accountability amongst the team functions with participating groups (e.g., GIS).
  • Drive operational excellence thru working within various IPG operations team to identify areas for improvement and create a prioritized pipeline of initiatives in the Transformation office.
  • Ensure strong management of and administration of process documentation and oversight and progress of portfolio projects to drive adoption and compliance, working closely with existing departmental teams and/or agencies.
  • Engage key parties within specific programs to push through operational engineering, definition of business requirements, defining measurable improvements of programs as necessary.
  • Support projects and teams with skills in process excellence, project management, facilitation, problem solving, accelerating transformation and value creation to drive toward required outcomes.
  • Ensure visibility of project status for both internal teams and agencies via existing governance structures in place; run PMO Operations including ongoing reporting, consolidated status reporting and reviews, dependency management, and issue/risk management.


EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Degree; MBA preferred.
  • 10 -15 years of experience professional work experience in business processes and enterprise-level organizational ecosystems.
  • Advertising, media or communications agency experience, or experience working in the service industry is preferred.
  • Hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment, who is willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work.
  • Strong enterprise financial and production system experience on systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday (required), etc.
  • Experience with global and regional implementations.
  • Setting program objectives, developing long-range plans, and aligning the program’s direction with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated strategic agility and ability to collaborate, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner with of a multi-national organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Demonstrate change management and deployment adoption experience, including stabilization period.
  • A logical thinker who can decompose inefficient processes, determine root cause inefficiencies, and work with the business to create a best practice efficient way to proceed.
  • The person should “be troubled by processes that seem to be too complicated, take too long, or seem inefficient”.
  • Resilient and able to efficiently manage resources, budget allocation, and process optimization under pressure.
  • An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills in English.
  • Exhibits executive presence in tailoring messages to the appropriate audience at various levels.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining strong focus.
  • Innovative and driven to continuous improvements.
  • Ability to understand and manage stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Ability to resolve issues and conflicts with logical and sustainable approach.
  • Mentor and develop teams, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, communication, job level goals, and the building of an effective team dynamic.


NYC SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $240,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
