Job Summary: The Fullsteam Accounting team is seeking a highly qualified candidate for our Senior Manager, Revenue role to lead the revenue accountant and analyst team. This role is ideal for candidates with SAAS revenue experience and the ability to lead a revenue team in a hands-on, high growth and fast paced environment. This role will manage the revenue recognition and analysis for our portfolio companies while being a pivotal member of our Accounting management team and liaise with colleagues cross-functionally to provide service, reporting and insight on financial data based on analysis.


Primary Responsibilities:

Revenue Recognition & Analysis:

  • Partner with Technical Accounting to develop and maintain standardized revenue recognition policies and procedures aligned with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and consistency across business units.
  • Partner closely with business unit management teams to implement new customer contracts, pricing structures, and revenue streams, providing guidance on revenue optimization opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Establish processes to ensure proper reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable, unbilled revenue and deferred revenue.
  • Understand the revenue audit requirements; incorporate key compliance standards into any new processes and interfaces.
  • Support audit requests and ensure data provided by the team is complete and accurate.
  • Establish annual review process to confirm contract changes have not impacted the ASC 606 determination of revenue recognition.


Leadership:

  • Lead cross-functional projects to facilitate the transition of billing and revenue accounting for newly acquired companies from the integrations team. This includes the harmonization of O2C processes, revenue recognition methodologies, and financial reporting systems.
  • Identify process improvements to balance the team’s workload and shorten the month-end close and reporting process.
  • Improve revenue visibility and forecasting accuracy across the portfolio, leveraging insights from multiple SaaS operating companies to inform strategic decision-making at the executive level.
  • Manage the revenue cycle; journal entries, month-end process and understand the revenue audit requirements; incorporate key compliance standards into any new processes and interfaces.
  • Partner with the Manager, Billing to ensure collaboration between the two teams is effective.
  • Provide world-class customer service to internal and external customers including operations, keeping them abreast of new accounting policies and practices.
  • Work with operations on the implementation of Salesforce CRM solution and future billing system implementations and integrations.
  • Standardize and document processes including establishing new processes – SOP Standard Operating Procedures and training materials to quickly onboard new team members.
  • Be an independent, hands-on leader, with fact-based decision-making capability, establishing KPIs to drive and measure productivity while providing a positive approach to change and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop forward vision to scale revenue processes collaborating with IT, Integrations, and technical resources to design / test / implement revenue automations.
  • Perform project management activities to support business unit management teams in the optimization of finance and accounting systems, providing expertise and guidance on revenue-related modules and functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as FP&A, sales, operations, tax and legal to ensure alignment on revenue recognition matters.


Analysis & Reporting:

  • Conduct comprehensive revenue analysis, providing detailed variance explanations for executive leadership and operations, including key metrics such as churn, retention, new customer acquisition, recurring revenue trends, and pricing strategies.
  • Partner with operations on new revenue initiatives and explanations for revenue variances as needed.
  • Ensure deferred revenue reclasses are completed as required for audited financial statements.
  • Work with the collections team and Revenue Accountants to ensure the AR aging is accurate and all credits / payments are applied.
  • Perform Allowance for bad debts analysis for software revenue / accounts receivable and book appropriate reserve entries monthly.
  • Partner with FP&A to optimize consolidated financial reports and analysis for private equity stakeholders, summarizing portfolio-wide revenue trends, performance metrics, and strategic insights.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accounting or Finance degree required.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in order to cash cycle or corporate accounting, with at least 6-8 years in a supervisory role fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • A combination of progressively responsible roles in accounting, finance, or related fields, demonstrating leadership, strategic thinking, and a strong understanding of financial principles while acting as primary revenue liaison with varied levels of management.
  • Experience leading a team of 6 or more effectively with excellent mentorship skills; provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to support growth and development.
  • Strong mastery of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and experience with revenue technical accounting in a SaaS environment including corporate month-end close process experience.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders in verbal and written communications to influence decision making at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence, experienced in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Requires strong proficiency in NetSuite, FloQast, SFDC and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experienced in managing relationships with operations and other business partners through a collaborative and service-oriented approach.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Multi-company back-office operating experience preferred.
  • Big 4 Firm experience preferred.

This position is 100% remote. The candidate would need to have a suitable work environment set up as their home office and be comfortable managing their own schedule in a non-corporate office environment.
