Work at a Glance: Strategic & Collaborative Organizational Health & Assessment Expert

  • The Senior Vice President works directly with the Chief Operating Officer to implement assessment strategies, vision and annual goals for NeighborWorks America that build the health of the network and that provide effective stewardship of federal resources.
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Organizational Assessment Division, a team of over 30 professionals that conduct organizational health assessments and financial analyses, monitor the NeighborWorks network and other grantees for compliance, facilitate the monitoring of the health of the network by senior leaders of the corporation, and ensures user-friendly systems are in place to facilitate information sharing and workflows for assessments.
  • Develops the vision and strategy for assessments in partnership with staff and stakeholders and serves as an external and internal expert on matters of nonprofit health.
  • Builds trust and fosters a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean principles to maximize customer value and minimize/eliminate waste

Supervisor: Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: 4

Fiscal Responsibilities: Reviews and approves timesheets and expense reports for direct reports approves contracts for consultant resources for assessments and develops and manages to an annual division budget.

Position Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of experience in community development or assessment/consulting of which a minimum of five years has been spent supervising staff and leading teams. An in-depth understanding of nonprofit management preferred.

Technology: Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, Tableau

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Up to 20% depending on location.
  • Physical/Sensory Demands: Fast-paced working environment with extensive computer usage
  • Hybrid: This role reports into the office 2 days per week.

Organizational Assessment Division

The mission of the Organizational Assessment Division is to use the tools of organizational health assessments to build and advance a strong, resilient network. Through organization assessments, audit analyses, compliance monitoring, and administration of a corporate organizational health tracking system, OAD advances NeighborWorks America’s strategic plan for strengthening the capacity and sustainability of the NeighborWorks America network.
