Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical liaison between suppliers, procurement, and the Edwards engineering community.
- Manage sourcing activity coordination and processes relating to new product development including leading or participating in supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness. Typically assigned to technically complex projects.
- Research potential sources of supply for purchased products to ensure prices are globally competitive and sufficient production capacity is available within the supply chain. Understand the market price or “Should Cost” price for key commodity items.
- Research new technologies to enhance existing product offerings or that could provide new avenues for product solutions.
- Interact with R&D teams and engineers to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve supplier productivity/quality and ensure supply chain continuity.
- Evaluate feasibility and facilitate the implementation of supplier developed content in Edwards product offerings while assisting in the implementation and communication of global sourcing strategies.
- Facilitate and lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) processes which includes leading root cause problem investigation and resolution through design prevention
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering or comparable discipline, or equivalent years of experience.
- 5 years professional experience in procurement, engineering, supply chain and/or quality management
- Demonstrated ability to drive positive outcomes with creative solutions to sourcing and supplier development.
- Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues.
- Ability to learn and understand engineering specifications, drawings and technical reports.
- Lean manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, problem solving and continual process improvement experience
- Working Experience with Microsoft Office – PowerPoint and Excel.
- Working knowledge of MRP (SAP a plus).
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and effective time manager. Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
