The Senior Logistics Specialist is a key associate whose experience and knowledge contributes to the function of the work area. This person demonstrates a strong work ethic and will also demonstrate productivity numbers exceeding the average employee. have developed technical and process knowledge above their peers. With the strong trust and capability, the Senior Logistics Specialist plays a key role in troubleshooting problems, answering process/technical questions of new users, and tasked with audits in areas of quality, inventory, and customer service. Depending on the area, this associate may also complete administrative tasks such as scheduling of deliveries or pickups at the direction of the area supervisor.
This is a split shift position that will work form 11:00am-7:30pm Monday-Friday
Essential Functions
Associates will flex into day-to-day roles as required by the flow of the business. It is expected that when serving in a productivity role they can meet or exceed the standard productivity requirements.
Associates will use advanced transactions to troubleshoot problems in the warehouse managements system (WMS). Examples include carrier and address change for invalid orders, lost inventory, inbound receipt variances, and invalid customer returns
Associates will participate in the root cause investigations for failures in service, quality, and inventory
Associates will act as the primary points of contact for ensuring quality and completion for key customer orders
Associates will run pre-defined reports that indicate critical actions required in the work area and will follow up to ensure completion
With the visibility to problems and understanding of the advanced transactions of the system we want the associates to initiate ideas for improvement that will prevent errors, increase quality, and improve customer service
Assist associates in the area with basic problem resolution and re-enforce training with clarifications and passing along work method pointers
Competencies
WMS experience. Associates should understand the purpose and be able to complete all of the primary WMS within a work area
Understanding of Peter Millar processes and standards of quality and service are essential
Extreme attention to detail and accuracy; High standards for quality work and workplace
Self-directed and task oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate and coordinate with team members efficiently/effectively
Ability to efficiently manage time and meet all deadlines
Must be flexible as challenges present themselves
Proficient with Windows based systems required
Proficient with MS Office applications – Word/Excel required
Problem-solve and develop ideas and suggestions for process improvements
Must be able to perform physical tasks including moving boxes up to 40lbs, bending and reaching at various heights, and walking up and down steps
Desired Education And Experience
A High School Diploma or GED is required;
Experience of 2 to 3 years in distribution center or logistics
Solid communication and ability to calmly work thru issue resolution
Able to maintain and build effective relationships with cross-functional team;
