Overview


FMI’s Strategy Practice is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Consultant to join its growing team. FMI’s Strategy Practice focuses on strategic planning, business development, and go-to-market strategy development. We provide industry-best market research that delivers relevant market intelligence to help our clients find growth opportunities, gain insights, and understand the trends that are shaping and influencing our industry.


This is a full-time opportunity that requires 40%- 60% travel and will be based out of our office in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities


  • Consulting and interacting with people at all levels across a client organization, including senior level executives.
  • Working on engagements with multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Actively participating in all phases of the project lifecycle and working closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are met.
  • Performing in-depth assessments to investigate, uncover and understand business issues and processes, and delivering written and/or oral presentations of findings.
  • Performing primary and secondary market research, including data gathering and analysis, and industry stakeholder interviews.
  • Synthesizing research findings into visually compelling reports.
  • Ensuring superior customer service through follow-up, client responsiveness and customer-focused communication.
  • Preparing articles for industry publications and supporting thought leadership activities.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or building construction.
  • MBA from an accredited top-tier college or university.
  • 1 + years’ experience in a consulting role.
  • 1+ years’ experience in the construction or related industry.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s and master’s degree from an accredited top-tier college or university in business, finance or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in professional services, business, engineering, construction, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and the ability to work in an ambiguous entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, including the ability to gain and retain the attention and involvement of sophisticated, challenging audiences.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
