The Haskell Company is thrilled to launch Edge Retreat, a new annual program fostering personal and professional growth for our team members. Part of our Leadership Series, the Edge Retreat focuses on developing leadership skills and tactics that enrich careers and personal lives, enhanced by the shared experiences of our attendees. In this video, Elizabeth Powell and Taylor Williams share how the Edge Retreat provides a valuable break from day-to-day responsibilities, fostering reflection on leadership and shared experiences. Programs like Leadership Series and Edge Retreat exemplify our commitment to training and development, which is reflected in our consecutive No. 1 ranking in Training magazine’s APEX Awards. For the 15th consecutive year, Haskell team members were proud to lead the design and administration of the SkillsUSA #Carpentry Championship last week at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority in Atlanta. SkillsUSA is a nonprofit national education association serving middle-school, high-school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. The SkillsUSA Championships showcases the nation’s most highly skilled career and technical education students. It’s also one of the largest hands-on workforce development events in the world. Held in conjunction with SkillsUSA’s National Leadership & Skills Conference each June, the event features more than 6,000 state champions from across the United States competing head-to-head in 115 #trade, #technical and #leadership competitions. This year’s carpentry project focused on roof framing components and incorporated wall framing components and metal stud framing. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in secondary and post-secondary divisions. #HaskellAEC David Bates, Tim D. Haskell team members recently celebrated alongside the U.S. Coast Guard during the grand re-opening of its Fort Macon Multi-Mission Building (MMB) in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Severely damaged by Hurricane Florence in 2021, the rebuild project has transformed the landscape, providing a centralized upgraded space for amenities and operations previously housed in four separate facilities. The design-build, $27.7 million project houses the latest technology, equipment, furniture and support features across the following spaces: boat maintenance bay with crane; command center; offices; berthing room (living and sleeping quarters); multi-purpose training/mess deck and kitchen; medical clinic; recreation room; fitness area; and locker room/bathrooms. Haskell self-performed 100% of the design and engineering of the facility and also subcontracted Haskell Steel for approximately $200,000 of fabricated steel for the project. Congratulations to all stakeholders on successfully delivering this project. We are proud of the opportunity to support the Coast Guard’s mission and enhance its ability to ensure safety, environmental protection and national defense.
