Supply Chain Planner / Buyer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a food and beverage manufacturing company in Portland, OR on a Supply Chain Planner / Buyer job. You develop relationships with all internal team members quickly and seamlessly to understand business needs. You have strong forecasting, inventory, and supply planning skills. You have been responsible for replenishment purchasing and balance this against the demand plan and inventory levels. Candidates must be local to the Portland, OR metro area to perform this role. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand for raw materials and packaging supplies.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production schedules while minimizing carrying costs and waste.
• Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure timely delivery of quality materials at competitive prices.
• Generate purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules to ensure on-time receipt of materials.
• Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or delivery timelines.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, forecast future demand, and improve planning accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Proactively seek opportunities to streamline processes and improve supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or similar preferred
• 3+ years of planning and purchasing experience
• Experience with demand, inventory, and supply planning
• Experience communicating with vendors and executing purchase orders

Skills:

• Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and communication skills
• High level of detail orientation

About the role:

• Full Time, Direct Hire
• Mon – Fri; 8a-5p
• Primarily on site role with some scheduling flexibility
• Comp / Benefits – 75-95K DOE; company performance bonus potential, employer/employee supported medical, dental and vision plans, paid time off, and 401k with company match
