We are seeking a Technical Domain Architect for APIs to join our Technical Architecture organization. The ideal candidate will assist in designing best-in-class API solutions globally across all functional areas of our company. The candidate should have hands-on experience in API architecture design and development.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and mature API standards in line with the target state architecture
  • Provide insights and recommendations on the design and deployment of a full API lifecycle management framework, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance utilizing industry-leading platforms and tools
  • Champion best practices across all aspects of API management while safeguarding data integrity and optimizing operational efficiencies
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities by evaluating emerging trends in Microservices and APIs that align with the company’s overall strategy and direction
  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation, promoting knowledge sharing in the design and use of API architecture, including API best practices on large-scale projects
  • Communicate the status of technical stacks and initiatives to stakeholders and leadership
  • Establish metrics and scorecards to ensure inner/outer APIs are optimized for high scalability and availability
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and scalable API patterns to enable application and platform teams to deliver more, better, and faster
  • Apply lean thinking to designs across the full lifecycle of API, integration, and systems
  • Oversee vendor management and participate in customer advisory boards
  • Stay tethered to best-in-class DevSecOps practices and industry trends

Qualifications

  • Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of system architecture, integration architecture, and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with API design patterns, RESTful principles, and API security protocols (oAuth, JWT, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field, with a minimum of 12 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Eight or more years of hands-on experience as a Domain Architect with in-depth experience in API design and development from a practitioner standpoint
  • Depth of experience in decomposable application environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Proven ability to create visual diagrams using Visio or other tools to communicate integration architectures and solutions
  • Experience leading API strategy/roadmap in alignment with business objectives
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities
