Title: UX Designer

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months (Possibility of extension)

Summary: Work in an agile environment, coordinating with people across products and disciplines, balancing business objectives, end-user goals, and technical requirements to create world-class experiences. Ability to grasp big-picture concepts and fundamental requirements, dive into the details to create user interfaces for interactive products through wireframes, high-fidelity visual designs, and prototype solutions. Validate designs in an iterative fashion, coordinating with the team to organize usability tests to ensure the design works for our users. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to iterate and refine according to user feedback, while holding a high bar for success and users' basic expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Design the user experience of new and existing software applications and experiences.
  • Design and document clear, modern, interfaces and understandable commercial transactions.
  • Assist with researching, exploring and testing user interface designs for mobile, tablet and web-based applications.
  • Translate brand personality into digital, interactive experiences, including brand look, values and voice.
  • Collaborate in an agile environment with product owners, scrum masters, developers, testers, stakeholders, as well as, other members of the user experience team.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
  • Present work to the user experience team, product team, and executives for review.
  • Ensure user experience requirements are appropriately implemented through the development process by collaborating with developers and by providing timely reviews and feedback.
  • Stay informed about user experience and design trends and user preferences.
  • Work independently under general prioritization and guidance of the UX Director.

Specific Deliverables Include

  • Sitemaps and flow charts
  • Wireframes
  • Pattern Library
  • Presentations with various levels of information for a variety of audiences
  • Interactive prototypes and other deliverables to aid in user research
  • Style guides and design specifications for final visual design
  • Where appropriate, build on persona and journey maps.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years in a user experience or interactive design role for web and mobile experiences in an agile environment
  • Solid experience with Figma, Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Omnigraffle, Balsalmiq, or other wireframing and interactive prototyping tools
  • A strong portfolio of user experience work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience designing and measuring the effectiveness of B2B e-commerce experiences
  • HVAC and or manufacturing industry experience
  • Ability to facilitate design studios and design sprints
  • Strong presentation skills, including preparing presentations and presenting them to various local and remote audiences
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Visual design expertise and software acumen
  • Experience designing mobile websites/apps or responsive experiences
  • UX research experience
  • Information architecture experience
