Vice President of Operations

Our VP of Operations is a key member of the Shaffer Distributing Leadership Team, responsible for strategic leadership of operational functions of the division. The VPO leads the Operations Teams that deliver best-in-class day-to-day execution in the areas of warehouse, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, installations, parts and technical service. The VPO has direct involvement in the leadership and management of large-scale projects and delivering ongoing best-in-class customer support. This is an entrepreneurial role, leading talented individuals and elevating the team.

Primary Responsibilities Of This Role

  • Operations Team Leadership, Management and Accountability
  • Operations Core Process Communication, Customer-focus and Continuous Improvement
  • SalesPad (ERP) System Oversight and system Workflow management
  • Internal and customer-facing project management
  • Distributing team safety standards and compliance
  • Departmental P&L performance

This role oversees the Operations leadership team which is responsible for the following:

  • Warehouse Management and Inventory Control for Equipment and Parts Inventory
  • Inventory Purchasing and order fulfillment
  • Freight, logistics, delivery and installation
  • Customer technical and parts support and training
  • Equipment preparation and repair
  • Company facilities, trucks, vehicles and asset management

Required Qualifications

  • Champion for our Core Values
  • Minimum of 5 years Operations Leadership experience
  • Understanding of P&L statements
  • Able to manage large projects
  • Professional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and able to multitask
  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and use material handling equipment
  • Able to periodically travel, 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of Operations Leadership experience
  • Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
  • Experience managing people in a small to mid-sized business
  • Experience with eCommerce
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or driving a straight truck
