[20% for the planet] This year, Expand decided to profit the people who are actively trying to positively impact this planet and change the tide. 🌍 To do so, we chose to give 20% of our turnover from this year to Join For Water, an association that strives to make water accessible for people and nature alike. 🌱 As you know, our planet and the lifeforms living on it are facing increasingly complex challenges, such as the abondance of water. It has become a scarse ressource but actors like Join For Water are taking strides in the right direction. 💧 By doing this, Expand becomes the first JE in Belgium to donate to an environmental NGO, displaying our core values of sustainability and pionneering spirit. Expand will keep donating to such associations as we aim to impact our future in the right way. 🚀 Innovation for Impact !

🌱 We’re thrilled to share our 2023 End of Year ESG Impact Report, showcasing our dedication to sustainability and innovation. Last year, we achieved B Corp certification and were recognised as a Construct Zero Business Champion. We also measured our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, which will now serve as a benchmark in our transition towards net zero. Highlights include the 151 Farringdon Road project, which utilised low-carbon materials, and our community engagement initiatives, raising over £14,000 for charities. We also won the Plastic Reduction award from the Considerate Constructors Scheme and were shortlisted for two other categories. A huge thank you to our dedicated team for all their hard work in 2023, we're very proud of everything we achieved. 🔗 Read more about our key sustainability achievement here: https://bit.ly/4cpsbks #Sustainability #Innovation #Bcorp #GreenBuilding #CommunityEngagement #CarbonReduction #Ambit

This Earth Month I encourage organizations to join 1% for the Planet and commit to real meaningful change. While April 22nd is an important day to acknowledge, we need to take action that extends beyond this day, and beyond this month. Since 2022, Faulhaber has been a member of 1% for the Planet. As a small-to-mid business we have donated 50K+ in money and pro-bono services to worthy not-for-profits across the country – something that I am incredibly proud of. By joining 1% for the Planet, Faulhaber didn’t just make a financial commitment; we made a bold statement about our values and our vision for a more sustainable future. If you want to learn more about 1% for the Planet, or why this was the right business decision for our agency, read my blog linked below. #earthday #businessforgood #CSR #earthmonth

UK CHARITY COMMISSION PROBES COMPLAINTS ABOUT SCIENCE BASED TARGET INITIATIVE: The Charity Commission for England and Wales is looking into concerns about the Science Based Targets initiative after a complaint from a former employee. The complaint alleges SBTI's trustees acted "recklessly" by considering the use of carbon credits for offsetting GHG emissions, diverging from their previous stance. Initially, SBTI opposed the use of carbon offsets in its guidelines. However, in April, the NGO said it would consider the "responsible use of environmental attribute certificates," causing internal concern. Some news outlets have claimed this was following pressure from financial donors. CEO Luiz Fernando do Amaral last month stepped down from his role at the SBTi. It is not clear whether this was due to the recent controversy. H&M wrote SBTi expressing concern over the standard body’s plans to allow use of carbon offsets to mitigate scope 3 emissions. H&M told the SBTi’s board of trustees, “companies must address their own value chains directly rather than relying on offsetting emissions elsewhere.” It also said allowing offsets within scope 3 could undermine investments and innovation aimed at reducing actual value chain emissions. An official decision on this divisive issue is expected from the SBTi this month. The Charity Commission is investigating to determine the next steps. #Sustainability #Charity #EnvironmentalStandards #NetZero OUR STORY: https://lnkd.in/eK4-_T5f

Are you aware of the EU Staff Fund for a Fair and Sustainable Future, that provides small scale #grants since the #Covid19 pandemic? More than 113 small scale projects in 23 different countries were supported already! More than EUR 1.7 million in #donations were collected by end 2023, upon an #EUstaff4climate initiative in cooperation with the King Baudouin Foundation. Staff working across EU institutions are invited to donate monthly a share of their #salary to permanently support the fund. The fund prioritises projects in the nexus between #health, #climate, #biodiversity and socio-economic #transitions, that are promoted by small, local organisations, working in #Europe and countries in the process of joining the EU. Projects selected have often (too) limited #access to institutional #funding, in particular from the European Union. EU Staff Fund for a Fair and Sustainable Future website, with instructions for donations and funding updates: https://lnkd.in/d4EnznYb EU Staff for Climate is a #bottomup initiative led by EU staff in their individual and private capacity that brings together colleagues from across the EU institutions who are deeply concerned about the climate, ecological and social crisis facing our planet.
