Great to see Segal's Bennett Hadley speaking at #ISCEBS about the important role DB plans can play in the financial wellbeing of the workforce. Balancing short-term financial obligations is hard enough, but then figuring out how to also save for retirement is exceptionally hard (coupled with determining how, if, and to what extent those savings should be converted into guaranteed income). Have you considered how your employees would benefit by reopening your defined benefit pension plan? And, how might it help you be an employer of choice? And whether it might actually be less cash-intensive or risky as you might have thought (because, for example, of the advent of newer plan designs that help manage some of these factors).
Our Segal colleague, Bennett Hadley, delivered a great presentation yesterday at the #ISCEBS symposium.

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak. - Epictetus High performance sport moves fast. Coaches and athletes want definitive answers yesterday. Academic research is slow. Rigorous methodology takes time, patience and often discounts ecological validity. So how can we make meaningful progress, build knowledge and positively impact practice at scale? Listen to the system, it will tell you. With the support of the Australian Institute of Sport, Dr Katie Slattery and myself took this approach. "The [our] project, which is two years into its term, is notable for several features: it eschewed a “research question” in favour of consulting with practitioners; it is prioritising results over publication; and it is building on connections both to support the work and to give it longevity" See the full story here 👇🏽: https://lnkd.in/gn2dSMKs

Higher Education Leadserhip, Learning & Teaching, AI in HE, Quality Assurance & Accreditations, Rankings & Data
It was an absolute privilege to hear and share best practices with colleague from around the world! 🙏 to Association of MBAs for the invitation, to Felipe Dellinger for moderating, and to fKoen Vandenbempt, Eleanor Davies, Joanne Powell and @hans ver Der heijden for the discussions before during, and after (we missed you Sylwia Halas-Dej). Managing multiple accreditations is a reality that all business schools have to work with. I would advise to structure common policies and procedures around the following areas if your higher education institution is aiming to obtain and manage multiple accreditations ( Association of MBAs , AACSB , EFMD Global , Association of African Business Schools , #CEFDG, Business Graduates Association, etc) - a work that my colleague STEPHANIE MERCIER and her team Audencia are heavily involved with - faculty classification, qualifications, mix, management and deployment 🎓 - programme creation and review processes, and the inclusion of multiple stakeholders in the process 🧑🏫 - strategic planning and periodical reviews📊 - how the institution is creating long-term impact, serving its stakeholders, including students and the wider society 🗺️ Needless to say: data and documents collection, structuring and management is key! I am sure that many experienced colleagues reading this will have more to add to the list - don't hesitate 👇
Thanks to Tamim Elbasha, Associate Dean - Learning & Quality Development, Audencia Business School and Koen Vandenbempt, Dean, University of Antwerp & Non-Executive Director, Antwerp Management School for sharing their experiences of managing multiple accreditations with host Felipe Dellinger, as part of our Accreditation Forum. #AMBABGA24

With only 1 week before Early Bird Registration closes for i-Educate 2024, it’s important to highlight the valuable opportunities that exist for teams of Queensland state school staff in attending this 2 day event on 17-18 July. As a system initiative underpinning Equity and Excellence, Digital Innovation in Teaching and Learning includes system actions to embed digital innovation in teaching and learning. https://lnkd.in/gYbFF7ZU Key resources connected to these system actions will be profiled at i-Educate 2024 so it’s ideal timing for leadership teams to spend time being supported to reflect on progress made thus far at their own sites and to start thinking about strategic next steps in looking towards 2025. The conference program is here: https://lnkd.in/ePhXqm7F and includes a ‘Deep Dive into Digital Learning’ workshop in addition to numerous other opportunities for teams to engage with new resources and tools. Director of Studies & owner at INTERACTION LANGUAGE STUDIO. Specializes in Business English & other ESP areas. Linguistics and ELF/BELF studies
Such an interesting talk by Evan Frendo yesterday at the #LenguasVivasJRFernadez! He explored the realm of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and some intriguing questions were raised: - What defines Commercial ESP, and how does it cater to professional communication needs? - How do Academic ESP and Commercial ESP intersect, and what distinguishes them? - Who is best equipped to teach ESP: the language specialist, with their expertise in linguistics and pedagogy, or the subject expert, with their in-depth industry knowledge? Delving into these questions can deepen our understanding of ESP's dynamic landscape. #esp #businessenglish #cpd
Virginia López Grisolía , Director of Studies; María Cecilia Saavedra , Coordinator; Arminda Benítez , Senior Teacher Trainer; and Maria Lourdes Bernachea , Junior Teacher Trainer, attended Evan Frendo's insightful talk on Commercial ESP, organized by APIBA BESIG. A big thank you to Evan for the invaluable insights! Lots of food for thought! #CommercialESP #CorporateTraining #ProfessionalDevelopment

Conferences are opportunities to learn and network, but it doesn't have to result in a big collaboration or cutting edge ideas to be a valuable experience. What was the most valuable conference moment - at ALIA National or any other PD forum - in your LIS journey so far?💡💬👇 #LIS #GLAMR #ALIANational #Conference #LibrariesTransform #PD
