LOT 150 Miami 2024 RM Sotheby's Sotheby's Motorsport 2011 RUF Rt12 S $950,000 - $1,200,000 USD | Coral Gables, Florida Chassis No. W09BD0384BPR06133 Documents US Title To be offered on Friday, 1 March 2024 Frighteningly quick; powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter engine rated at 685 hp Remarkably showing only 513 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloguing Finished with Basaltblack Metallic paint over a Dark Grey Alcantara interior Accompanied by a road safety kit, owner’s books, RUF Zertifikat, and vehicle information sheet RUF Automobile GmbH, whether offering its a-la-carte modification regimen or hand-crafting astonishing sports cars from bodies-in-white or on bespoke chassis, has always paired incredible engineering with demanding build standards unrivaled by similar firms in the global marketplace. In November 2004, RUF debuted their first entirely house-built automobile, the Rt12. Developed from the ground up and using exclusive and proprietary powertrain components, at first glance its Porsche roots were obvious. However, have a closer look and you will discover that the Rt12 is an entirely different beast. The Rt12, built on the wider (and modified) body shell of Porsche’s 997-generation Carrera, represents no less than the sensational summit of the small-but-noble RUF product pyramid. The first distinction is the Rt12’s powerplant, a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six based on an earlier “Metzger” blueprint. This engine is mated to a RUF-built transaxle and limited-slip rear differential, routing down all 685 horsepower in “S” specification through massive 12.5-inch-wide rear tires. A proprietary and fully adjustable RUF hydraulic suspension system (with front axle lift function) underpins the car’s chassis, while braking is handled by a set of eight-piston (front) and four-piston (rear) calipers tucked inside RUF five-spoke wheels. To further maximize weight savings, the Rt12’s bumpers, hood, and rear decklid are all rendered in carbon fiber. An integrated roll cage is cleverly hidden behind the sumptuously appointed interior trim, and the cabin is further outfitted with all the amenities one would expect from a road-going Porsche of the most refined variety. When equipped with the optional “tall” gearing package and four-wheel drive, RUF company literature reports that the Rt12 could reach a top speed in excess of 224 miles per hour. As shown on the accompanying RUF Zertifikat, this exemplary Rt12 S was completed at the Pfaffenhausen factory and delivered in December 2010 finished with Basaltblack Metallic paint over a Dark Grey Alcantara interior. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale

2022 Hennessey Venom F5 Lot 142 | The Amelia Auction 2024 | Estimate: $1,200,000 - $1,650,000 OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE Racer X Collection Offered from the Racer X Collection The second of just 24 Venom F5 chassis constructed by Hennessey Special Vehicles of Sealy, Texas Boasting unparalleled performance of zero to 60mph in 2.5 seconds, zero to 186 mph in 10 seconds and estimated top speed over 300 mph Presented in original color scheme of Lausanne Silver with Ink leather interior Offered on behalf of its original owner with a recorded odometer reading of just 229 miles Accompanied by its original factory documentation, window sticker, battery charger and two Goodwool car covers Chassis No. HSVVNMF5CP0222003 Established in Sealy, Texas in 1991, Hennessey Performance Engineering initially focused on the modification–invariably to ultimate specification–of Japanese performance cars. However, by the mid-1990s, the company had become synonymous with highly developed versions of the Dodge Viper, and in 2006 started on the development of a car of their own design. Notably, company founder John Hennessey's objectives for the new project included a requirement to offer 200 mph performance in a relatively comfortable, user friendly environment. Based on a Lotus Elise chassis, the car was initially powered by a Viper V10 engine before this was replaced by a twin-turbocharged Chevrolet LS7-based unit; its name of Venom GT being applied by the time of its launch in 2010. Extensively developed over the next four years, the Venom GT astounded the motoring world in 2014 when it achieved a top speed of 270.49 mph in the appropriate surroundings of the Kennedy Space Center; the figure surpassing that even of the production car speed record of 267 mph, then held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Much subsequent discourse centered around the GT's relatively modest underpinnings; something which not only riled John Hennessey himself, but also provided the entire Hennessey workforce with additional motivation to–literally–set the record straight. Suitably emboldened, Hennessey vowed to develop a new replacement for the GT from scratch: the Venom F5. A design team for the nascent project was recruited through 2017 and a full-scale model was unveiled at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada in November of that year. With a curb weight of barely 3,000 pounds and more than 1,800 horsepower, the F5's performance was, unsurprisingly, utterly spellbinding. However, impressive though its zero to 60 mph and zero to 186 mph times of 2.5 and 10 seconds undoubtedly were–as was its recorded top speed of 272 mph–such extreme figures remain difficult to comprehend in absolute terms. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale

Txt LDS to 21002 2025 McLaren 750S bespoke program announced: View the 3 images of this gallery on the original article High-end automakers have offered extreme vehicle customization options through bespoke configuration programs for years. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Porsche and others give buyers the opportunity to select custom colors and other features, though it’s always at a very steep price. McLaren Special Operations (MSO) does the same, and now, it’s the new 750S’ turn. The MSO Contrast Pack adds appearance upgrades and custom color options to the “standard” 750S. Buyers have 12 preconfigured themes to choose from, and the automaker can accommodate fully custom orders upon request. McLaren said the packs can be ordered at the time of purchase or through the dealer configuration process. Contrast Pack 1 offers a range of bespoke colors not available on McLaren’s standard vehicles, and buyers can extend the color selection to the brake calipers and door mirror caps. They include: * Volcano Red * Volcano Orange * Anniversary Orange * Solar Yellow * Napier Green * XP Green * Tokyo Pearl * Viola Viola * Dove Grey * Soho Grey * Tarmac Black * Alaskan Diamond White The Contrast Pack 2 builds on the first package with a full Alcantara interior and other cabin accents. McLaren also offers a Stealth Badging package, which blacks out the exterior badges and wheel center caps. Carbon fiber front fenders are included, along with available carbon fiber louvers. All 750S models now get a Papaya orange stop/start button, a nod to McLaren’s long-running racing heritage. The company’s chief sales and marketing officer, George Biggs, said, “In its first year on sale, the 750S has been a huge success. The car’s stellar reception with both the media who have driven it and with customers has exceeded all expectations, and the Model Year enhancements for 750S with new options from McLaren Special Operations ensure it remains a benchmark defining supercar with exclusivity and remarkable craftsmanship.” The 2025 McLaren 750S is available for order now at one of the company’s more than 100 dealer locations in 40 markets globally. Buyers can also virtually configure the car with MSO by contacting the dealer to set an appointment. http://dlvr.it/TDV944 www.CarsBuyText.com #cartalk #Cars #carsofinstagram

A decade ago, the automotive world was revolutionized by the "Holy Trinity" of hypercars: the Ferrari LaFerrari (2.3 kWh battery), McLaren Automotive Ltd P1 (4.7 kWh), and Porsche AG 918 Spyder (6.8 kWh). With a combined 2,740 horsepower, these hybrid marvels captivated enthusiasts and continue to command admiration. While each is a technological tour de force, the P1 holds a special allure for me. Fast forward to today, and history seems to be repeating itself. Ferrari has just unveiled the F80, featuring a 2.3 kWh battery and a staggering 1,200 combined horsepower. Not to be outdone, McLaren recently revealed the W1, featuring a 1.384 kWh battery and an impressive 1,258 horsepower. Porsche, however, remains the wild card. While they teased the Mission X concept last year, it's unclear whether they'll embrace full electrification or continue with hybrid technology like their competitors. The automotive world watches, wondering if we're witnessing the birth of a new "Holy Trinity". Fun times in the automotive world! 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic < Gentian Blue Metallic Lot 139 | The Amelia Auction 2024 | Estimate: $425,000 - $525,000 Racer X Collection Offered from the Racer X Collection One of just 1,250 992-shape 911 Sport Classic variants produced Optioned in Gentian Blue Metallic with Black leather interior Originally delivered to The Porsche Exchange of Highland Park, Illinois Optional extras fitted include Lightweight and Noise Insulated Glass, Lane Change Assist, Power Folding Door Mirrors, and a Burmester Surround Sound system Offered on behalf of its original owner with a recorded odometer reading of just 52 miles at the time of cataloging Accompanied by its original factory documentation, window sticker, and factory handbooks Chassis No. WP0AG2A94PS252096 First unveiled in 997-shape, 3.8-liter guise for 2010, the Porsche 911 Sport Classic was a limited-edition variant of the company's incumbent Carrera S model, albeit one boasting an uprated 402 horsepower engine and aesthetics inspired by the immortal Carrera RS 2.7 of the early 1970s. By employing a six-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive and a fixed Carrera RS-style “ducktail” rear spoiler, the Sport Classic exhibited three cornerstones of Porsche design, yet the car seamlessly blended such apparent convention with cutting-edge technology including Ceramic Composite brakes, electrically adjustable dampers and a Stability Management system. Offering a superb driving experience, the cars were an immediate hit with drivers and collectors alike; their appeal to the latter enhanced by a total production run of just 250 cars from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. After a hiatus of twelve years, Porsche announced the launch of a new 911 Sport Classic in April 2022. Constructed upon the still-current 992 platform, the second-generation variant further refined the concept of its predecessor, this time utilizing the Turbo model as its basis. The new-shape Sport Classic retained the Turbo's 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged engine–to which a seven-speed manual transmission was coupled–but employed only rear-wheel drive, rather than the four-wheel drive system of the base car. This decision necessitated a modest reduction in both peak power and torque to 542 horsepower and 443 lb-ft respectively, in order to avoid overstressing the transmission and rear driveshafts. However, in dispensing with the four-wheel drive system a weight saving of 200 pounds was achieved; a move which afforded the Sport Classic a power-to-weight ratio superior even to that of the Turbo. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale

When a car gets re-designed it is to, to quote French House duo Daft Punk, make it harder, better, faster, stronger more than ever. In many cases the leap from generation to generation can make a good car into something truly great. Here are our favourite cars that went from good to great in the span of redesign. Mazda MX5: Each redesign of this classic roadster has enhanced its driving dynamics and modernized its styling. Volkswagen Golf: With each iteration, the Golf has become more refined, offering better performance, technology, and comfort. Toyota Supra: The latest redesign breathed new life into this legendary sports car, with a modern look and impressive performance. Porsche 911: While staying true to its classic design, the 911 has seen numerous improvements in performance, technology, and comfort over the years. Jeep Wrangler: Recent redesigns have made the Wrangler more capable off-road while also improving its on-road manners and interior comfort. Honda Civic: Redesigns have kept the Civic fresh and competitive, with improvements in performance, efficiency, and interior quality. BMW 3 Series: Each redesign has refined the 3 Series, enhancing its driving dynamics, technology, and luxury features. Mercedes-Benz G-Class: The recent redesign modernized the G-Class while preserving its iconic boxy silhouette, resulting in improved performance and luxury. We would love to know your favourite it in the comments below… CVS - The car leasing company that cares 🚗💨💫💫 • • • • • #CVS #badcredit #mini #mazda #volkswagen #golf #toyota #supra #porsche #911 #jeep #wrangler #honda #mercedes #bmw

Volkswagen Scirocco could come back as an EV sports coupe https://ift.tt/Sc9frVg Volkswagen could bring back the popular Scriocco sports coupe in the future as an EV. The brand is currently studying internal design, engineering and manufacturing proposals for its return as an electric car with 1970s inspired styling and a possible dual-motor, four-wheel-drive R flagship. Volkswagen Scirocco EV: what could it be? The two-door is a part of a sports car project being discussed that also includes a fourth-generation Porsche Boxster/Cayman, a production version of the Cupra Dark Rebel coupe concept and a fourth-generation Audi TT, an insider has divulged to our sister publication Autocar UK. They suggested it could be launched by 2028 if ultimately granted production approval by Volkswagen brand CEO Thomas Schafer. The three-door Scirocco is envisaged to sit above the second-generation ID 3 hatchback that's set to adopt the Golf name and be sold alongside a restyled ninth-generation version of its combustion-engined hatchback sibling when it appears in 2027. Volkswagen Scirocco platform, powertrain While the electric Golf is set to adopt Volkswagen’s new SSP platform, the new Scirocco is proposed to be based on a specially adapted version of the PPE platform developed for the new Boxster/Cayman, which will be offered exclusively with electric power. Details of the new electric sports car platform have yet to be made official, but Autocar UK understands that it has been conceived to support a number of differing wheelbase lengths and track widths, as well as single-motor, rear-wheel drive and dual-motor, four-wheel-drive layouts. As with the J1 platform used by the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT, the new platform has been developed to provide low door sills and floor height – elements crucial to a sporting silhouette. This is claimed to be achieved by packaging the battery within the centre tunnel and behind the cabin, mirroring the mid-engined layout of all previous Boxsters. Labelled E-Core by Porsche, it was previewed by the track-focused, 1,088hp Mission R concept car of 2021. While the new Boxster and Dark Rebel will feature two-seat interiors, the new Scirocco and TT are expected to receive longer wheelbases. The Scirocco is expected to start with roughly 300bhp in single-motor form and culminate with more than 400bhp in dual-motor guise – providing a successor to the Scirocco R, which was sold with a turbo four-pot from 2009 to 2017. Plans to revive the Scirocco came after newly appointed Volkswagen Group chairman Oliver Blume rallied managers to develop plans to provide the German giant with greater economies of scale for new volume-selling models. It remains to be decided where the new Scirocco will be produced, but one possibility is the former Karmann factory in Osnabruck, Germany – the site where the original Scirocco was created.
