Organisations from 16 countries, including the Netherlands and the UK, looking to collaborate on international R&D projects in the field(s) of applied quantum technology, can now apply for funding through this Eureka call. R&D project applications for this call for projects can be submitted between 1 February 2024 and 9 May 2024. The project consortium must include organisations based in a minimum of two of the countries listed in this call. The Netherlands application must be submitted by a Netherlands for profit company. Other Netherlands organisations, such as universities and research organisations, can join the Netherlands consortium as a project partner. Applications from the UK can include businesses as well as research and technology organisations, but must include an SME and be business-led. It’s high on the national political agenda. Recently Nicolai Tangen complained about how risk averse we are in Europe. Ironically he “see the speck in his brother's eye, but do not see the beam in the pension fund”. Norway, IN and RCN can learn a lot from EIC, Europes leading innovation fund, on how to crowd in private investors into deep tech and future technology. Deep tech startups and SMEs not only position themselves as leaders in their respective fields but also contribute significantly to technological progress and economic growth.

As we gathered to celebrate the closing of the 2022-2024 GIID Global Network, Ted Hyman, FAIA Hyman, one of our newest advisors, offered reflections on his engagement with our districts and his observations regarding innovation districts worldwide.   Initially, Ted anticipated his involvement would mainly revolve around the built environment. However, as he engaged with fellow participants, he realized that the scope transcended physical structures. It's about envisioning the future and crafting spaces to realize that vision.   Ted worked with various districts like Oslo Science City, Knowledge District in Zuidas Amsterdam, and Phoenix Bioscience Core, each with its unique geography and culture. Yet, despite their differences, Ted discovered that “the problems all were really kind of the same. It's really a microcosm of how we think about cities. … putting the residential over there, and the academic over there and the church someplace else. This idea, how will we bring these things back together is very much the kinds of problems you're dealing with.”   In closing, Ted emphasized that his engagement was as beneficial to him as it was to others, highlighting the collaborative spirit and mutual learning ethos that define the GIID Global Network.   With the unwavering dedication of all participants, we are poised to continue shaping the future of innovation districts worldwide.   #InnovationDistricts #GlobalNetwork #Collaboration

😒EAGE 2024 Oslo, a great success with one red card 🟥 ⛔️To leaverage the potential of diversity, we have to address non professional behavior in conference. One week ago, we were concluding another remarkable edition of the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) Annual Conference in Oslo 🇳🇴. 🙏We, along with many participants, want to acknowledge the hard work of the EAGE team in making this event a success. The insights shared, the innovative solutions discussed, and the professional connections made were truly inspiring. 🐘However, we must address an Elephant in the exhibition room. Despite the progress over the years, it is disheartening to report that, in EAGE, in 2024, women attending EAGE can still be exposed to unprofessional behavior from some men. Is it as bad and obvious as a decade ago? Hopefully not. Is it acceptable ? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! So here is our2️⃣ take away to address this red card: 1 - If you experienced non-professional behavior during EAGE, you are not alone, and it is not your fault. We stand with you and we should all talk about this elephant in the exhibition room. 2 - As we all agree such behavior has no place in our conferences, please take a stand. Spread the right message within your teams as manager and remain vigilant on all conferences. 🤝On a positive note, we extend our gratitude to all the dedicated professionals who visited our SpotLight booth. Your interest in CCS surveillance and focused seismic monitoring fuels our commitment to advancing these crucial technologies. 🗽 Day 2 at WIMUN NY 2024 Conference The second day of the #Wimun NY 2004 Conference bore witness to the commitment and dedication of our students from Agora Lledó International School, Agora Andorra International School, and Swostishree Gurukul IB World School towards understanding and resolving global issues through the functioning of the United Nations. 💬 From the onset of the day, students have been immersed in passionate and constructive debates, representing various countries and addressing a wide range of global issues. Each delegate has taken on their role with seriousness and determination, mindful of the impact their actions can have on the world stage. One of the highlights of this day has been the collaboration among delegates. Despite differences of opinion and the challenges they face, students have shown a remarkable ability to work together in pursuit of common solutions. This spirit of cooperation and constructive dialogue is fundamental to the success of the United Nations and is encouraging to witness among our next generation of leaders. In addition to participating in formal debates, our students have also had the opportunity to attend a conference led by Jamil Ahmad, director of the United Nations Environment Programme. These enriching experiences are expanding their understanding of global issues and strengthening their problem-solving skills and teamwork. As we progress through the conference, it is evident that our students are not only enjoying the experience but also learning and growing as individuals and future global leaders. Their dedication and enthusiasm are inspiring and fill us with confidence in the vital role they will play in building a fairer, more peaceful, and sustainable world. In summary, the Wimun NY 2004 Conference is a testament to the commitment of youth to positive change and global collaboration.
