The result of a decade of innovation 🚀 It's taken literally thousands of man-hours, late nights, mistakes and corrections to get this platform to where it is today. But we're finally here and the UniAdmissions: The World's First Oxbridge Prep School Portal is officially launched for our 2024+ cohort. Why do I think this will be a game-changer for schools with Oxbridge applicants? 👉 Students have way too much to think about when it comes to building a strong application. The Portal takes the administrative thinking out of the equation so they can just focus on the stuff that matters. 👉 We've spent the last 10 years perfecting the Oxbridge application curriculum. This curriculum works (we get 61% of our students their offer). The Portal delivers that curriculum smoothly. 👉 Teachers and schools can monitor their individual students' progress and get alerts if they're falling behind. Everything is built in. We can't wait to see the impact this has on the 2024 cohort. Check it out here >> https://lnkd.in/eydxKpZq #Oxbridge #platform #education #innovation

Here I am on CBC's The Current discussing my The Walrus feature on academic accommodations. Seanna Takacs, Ph.D. offers her take, which I don't entirely agree with. More training for underpaid, exhausted sessionals? Nah, give us more resources and support. Is it really good pedagogy to record your classes and make them available online? Sometimes, but also sometimes not. The magic of a good class discussion is that it happens live, in real time. Students can't think together if they're not actually together. And togetherness, post-pandemic, is more vital than ever. https://lnkd.in/gCvNX9wE

National Facilitator at NCEE dedicated to supporting environments where our greatest assets, our youth, thrive, belong, and become more than ready for future life.
I've been reflecting greatly on the National Center for Education and the Economy’s latest research brief, "Thinking Differently About TIME." This powerful publication urges us to rethink various aspects of time in education, such as teaching time, school schedules, time for fostering student agency, and support for personalized learning. Additionally, this brief provides us robust examples of contexts, both nationally and globally, from which we can learn. https://bit.ly/3zCGyny As a National Facilitator, former principal, and professional learning developer, I found the insights on Teaching Time and how education systems balance time for teaching and non-teaching tasks and opportunities particularly impactful. One of the barriers we often hear to building capacity around the science of learning and development is the lack of time. What if we could reconsider the allocation of teaching and non-teaching time, as the examples in this brief have demonstrated, and essentially remove time as a barrier? With increased time for professional learning, teacher collaboration and planning, and action research and learning, imagine the possibilities for increased teacher agency and the subsequent impact on improved student outcomes! #LearningToLeading #ImpactInAction #EdResearch

A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more. The new Alternative Provision cohort in Cambridge activated their imaginations today as they took part in a vision boarding session with our Curious Engager 💭 For many, it was the first time they’ve engaged in this type of exercise and our team were extremely impressed by the insights that they shared throughout. If you look closely, some of the young people even created their own quotes to live by! These journals will be their best-friends from now on 📖 Every morning will start with intention setting and we’ll finish our sessions with reflection on what they’ve learnt. As one young person has highlighted below… “It’s not about being the best, it’s about being better than you were yesterday.” What have you done today that’s helped you grow? Let us know below 👇 #Inspire2Ignite #AlrernativeProvision #PositivelyAlternative #alternativeeducation
