Did you know we have U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) representation across all 6 Boards in the Eastern Region, including Baltimore, Boston, Newark, New York City, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia? HUDs presence on our Boards plays a crucial role in fostering federal partnerships, which was highlighted during last month’s FEB Eastern Region “Fostering Friday” session featuring RA Juana B. Matias During these presentations, we invite federal leaders to share their agency’s mission and objectives with our team, helping us to identify key issues and build awareness for more effective collaboration. The FEBs consistently strive to create opportunities to discover how we can most successfully support the federal agencies we partner with. Thank you again, RA Juana Matias, for discussing HUD’s essential work with us. As RA Matias emphasized during her presentation, “we really cannot do this work alone… these kinds of partnerships are essential to us reaching our customers and getting communities connected with our resources.” We look forward to working with HUD on future initiatives and applying our enhanced understanding of their mission and objectives to help them achieve their goals. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗬 𝟮𝟯 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 🟩🟧🟩🟧 SFG is a collaborative statewide initiative dedicated to integrating research-based Protective Factors into services for families and children. During Fiscal Year 2023, SFG made significant progress by refreshing its strategic plan and evaluation efforts. The expansion efforts have resulted in 17 new partnerships, allowing SFG to extend the reach of the five Protective Factors through various family support programs. Through these initiatives and participation in key events, SFG continues to empower families and strengthen communities, creating a more resilient Georgia for future generations. August is National Civic Health Month. The National Civic League has created a civic health index that includes seven components of community-based civic capital: engaged residents, inclusive community leadership, collaborative institutions, embracing diversity and equity, authentic communication, a culture of engagement, and shared vision and values. Here in Arkansas, it is in our best interests, and in the best interests of our children and grandchildren, that we elect leaders who make it their mission to create and sustain civic health infrastructure that empowers the citizens of Arkansas to build livable communities where we all can thrive together.
