9moThe challenge isn't always available beds but insurance companies and the authorization process. In rural areas we are seeing facilities close at a rapid pace but that easier to explain to the patients than why the are sitting waiting on their insurance companies. Discharge planning has to start from day 1 and the initial plan should ALWAYS be home. Having a great homecare partner that can take high acuity patient is a must to help with length of stay and throughput.
