Reading through the Saudi Nursing & Midwifery Scope of Practice: It is interesting how the profession places a great emphasis on Responsibility, Accountability and Autonomy. Nurses and midwives are responsible for performing their duties to the best of their abilities and are obligated to act within the limits of their knowledge, competence and skills. Accountability is a crucial aspect of the profession, where individuals are professionally and legally held responsible for their actions, tasks or duties. Moreover, autonomy is an essential element in the nursing and midwifery profession, as it allows professionals to make decisions for the benefit of their patients beyond their scope of practice, based on their experience. It's reassuring to see that the profession has a set of professional values to guide their practice. #nursing #midwifery #professionalvalues #responsibility #accountability #autonomy

Offering a KEY pearl and resource for salary issues! For Midwives struggling to prove their worth, read the article very carefully. MGMA is the largest and most widely cited organization for healthcare provider salary ranges. Quite frankly they lay it out very clearly in the title: Optimizing Advanced Practice Providers. https://lnkd.in/g8KTdqPM The slide below is from a ppt presentation I update every six months and present to several graduate midwifery education programs each year. The aim — help midwives entering the workforce better understand their monetary value. Points to remember: APPs are significant revenue generators, and, always negotiate an offer. See you Monday UAB School of Nursing Nurse Midwifery MSN students! I can’t wait to finally visit Birmingham!! #GrowMidwives #scalingupandsustainingmidwifery #valueyourworth #DoTheMath #FollowTheMoney #HereToHelp #negotiationskills #YesYouCan

We have become very experienced, in the #NHS, private #healthcare and #socialcare, at #international #recruitment. The stats below are pretty clear (no, I didn't know that about HALF of new nurses and midwives who joined the register last year were educated abroad). However, we are told by clients and partners in health and social care, that a lot more could and should be done to help new international recruits to settle and thrive. In our experience, there are 5 major factors that can transform #wellbeing, #engagement and #rentention of internationally recruited colleagues, in the first 6-12 months since arrival: 1) wellbeing and pastoral support 2) peer support 3) cultural integration 4) line manager support (not as straightforward as it might sound) 5) personal and professional development #NewHorizons, our newly launched Talent for Care program for international health and social care frontline teams, addresses all 5 factors - we are told, in a highly interactive and innovative way. We would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in finding out more or just sharing their experience: https://lnkd.in/e8ihJU78
Did you know, nearly HALF of new joiners in Nursing and Midwifery (April - Sept 2023) were educated outside the UK?* Looking forward to welcoming our first cohort of newly recruited healthcare professionals from overseas in April on our innovative program, #NewHorizons Interested to know more? Get in touch! *49.9% of new joiners to the Nursing and Midwifery Council were educated outside the UK. UK Nurses and Midwives - We Need You! CSH is conducting a quality improvement project to explore environmental sustainability within nursing and midwifery. We are asking nurses and midwives to complete a 5 minute survey to understand your beliefs, behaviours, and actions around sustainable healthcare within practice. These responses will help target workplace changes. We want to ensure we include as many voices as possible from different backgrounds, grades, specialties, and care settings. We would appreciate if you could take the time to inform this project by completing the survey and disseminate it to any others who are eligible. Sustainability of the nursing and midwifery workforce is a global concern. In acknowledgement of International Nurses Day today, and in line with the #IND2024 theme, ‘#OurNursesOurFuture – The Economic Power of Care’, we spotlight a recent JBI scoping review, ‘Individual and environmental factors that influence longevity of newcomers to nursing and midwifery’. Although nursing serves as the cornerstone of healthcare, it frequently encounters financial constraints and societal undervaluation. This review is the first step in developing a comprehensive understanding of the factors that influence both graduate Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife retention. The long awaited journal for nursing is here
It all begins with a thought, followed by determination to achieve your goal, no matter how big, scary, or daunting the process may be. Eventually, there comes a day when you can look back and say, "Yes, we finally made it." With that in mind, I am proud to present the most significant achievement within the nursing and midwifery profession in Malawi - The first ever nursing and midwifery journal. This journey that dates as far back as November 2022. I extend my deepest gratitude and congratulations to my team at NONM for this achievement. Dr A. Muula and Genesis Chorwe-Sungani word would fail me to express the volume of support you have given towards this initiative and how I wish the whole ocean waters were ink ...enough to allow me express the magnitude of support you have given this far. Many thanks to my coach and tutors from Centre for Executive Training and Development (CeTAD) at Lancaster University Juliet McDonnell Dr Jo Greenwood Debbie Simpson who also played a critical role in this project that culminated from an action research project conducted during my study at the University as a Commonwealth Scholar.#2022#Cohort# Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK #Nurses #HaveWon #WeMoveForward #ServeHumanity#NursingMidwifery#Healthrelated#Research#
