This is definitely not my wheelhouse, but I know I have some connections on here that knew my dad out in Oak Ridge and were/are in construction management. Does anyone have connections or insight for a friend of mine who is in school for civil engineering that will be looking for an internship this summer? #internship #constructionmanagement #civilengineering #structuralengineering

An Architecture and Engineering Student at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. Intern for Koberstein Contracting, Inc.
As I am now a few months into my internship, I can say I have learned a lot. The knowledge that has been provided to me during this internship is unforgettable and much appreciated! Here is a list of a few things I have learned: - How to set up, use, and properly layout a site using GPS equipment. (Pictured Below: 2 gate Values and a Tee) - How to correctly calibrate a site utilizing GPS equipment. - How to mathematically check interferences in new utilities with existing utilities. - A better understanding of plan reading. - How to wet tap a waterline, without shutting it down. - How to do topsoil cut and fill calculations. - A better understanding of how to correctly install utilities per an engineer's standards. #indianaCTE #internships #architecture @AsherAlden Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center #KobersteinContracting #careertecheducation @SICTCEngineering&ArchitectureAlumni J. Senior Business Executive @ Mansfield Service Partners/Fleet-Lube | Bulk Fuel & Lubricant Solutions For The Commercial and Heavy Civil Contractor
Urban Infraconstruction LLC ; Investing for The Future to follow. As a parent of a son in his (near) mid 20s who has benefited from a Career Development Opportunity similar to this, I can personally say these opportunities that are surfacing at a rapid rate give legitimacy to the idea that beginning a career in the Construction Industry isn’t a fallback option and furthermore provides a sustainable career path that what some once considered/still consider a dead end. Traditional schooling still holds validity, I will never argue that. What I will say is that not everyone is cutout for “The typical”. I applaud 👏🏼 Urban Infraconstruction LLC and the many Universities & Players in this industry for opening a lane that has The World of Yellow Iron, Dirt, Concrete, roads, dams, bridges, etc. “sexy” once again. #careerinconstruction #uta #UTAArlington #internshipopportunities Justin Csader Urban Infraconstruction LLC #investinginthefuture

In his time as an intern this summer, Parker has "learned a lot about the construction processes, job tracking and team leadership while out here this summer; however I have learned even more about myself and what possibilities lay in store" along with a greater understanding of the heavy civil sector of the industry. #RLWrocks #SummerIntern #ConstructionIntern #HeavyCivilConstruction

In the cutthroat world of civil and structural engineering, the term 'internship' often gets thrown around as a magic solution for migrant and graduate engineers struggling to break into the 👩🏽💻🙇🏽 Australian job market. But here's the harsh reality: not all internships are created equal. The difference between a generic internship and a well-structured, engineer-developed program can be the line between career success and continued joblessness.

Meet our current #Summer2024 #intern, Matthew Bond, George Mason University class of #2026. Why FHWA Central Federal Lands? CFL offers a very hands-on experience where not only do I get an in-person introduction to the #constructionfield, but I get to do so in our #nationalparks and other amazing areas! How Your Experience Has Been So Far: This #internship has gone beyond what I’ve expected I’ve had the #incredibleopportunity to be on the construction site almost daily shadowing the #siteinspectors and learning directly from our #projectengineer. What have you been working on? I’m mainly working on the scenic loop repair project in Theodore Roosevelt National Park south unit in #NorthDakota. A typical day on site I shadow the inspectors and get to learn about project operations, design implementations, and everything else there is to know about a construction site. At the end of the day, I write a daily report on what I’ve observed and learned throughout the day. What have you learned so far? I’ve learned much about #roadwaydesign, how they’re built, and the challenges associated with the process. By being included in project meetings I have gained a basic understanding of the administrative side of project operations as well. Find your next position at FHWA Central Federal Lands ➡ 📍 https://lnkd.in/gDV8zAvi #WeWorkWhereYouPlay #Hiring #CivilEngineering

CEO at ABES Engineering. Identified as a Game Changer Entrepreneur by the White House. Let's do Business Together.
I’m excited to announce that we have two interns with us this summer through the Peer Power Earn and Learn program, a program supported by Memphis-Shelby County Schools Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) . This fantastic program allows youth to gain real-world experience with companies, while earning a solid wage. It’s been a rewarding experience to have our interns join the team for the summer, and we hope they will walk away with great memories and solid experiences. Today, I’d like to introduce you Zaramagi Kayihura “Z” Espoir. Z is 19 years old and a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go Vol!!!). What does your internship at ABES entail? 👷 One of my duties is learning and working on AutoCAD and Civil 3D designs, which includes understanding and applying company and industry standards. I have also been able to learn the BlueBeam software, and I have started using it to generate quantity takeoffs. What are your career goals? I am majoring in aerospace engineering. 🚀 I want to work in rocket propulsion and/or guidance, but just about everything in the aerospace field excites me. What are some of your hobbies? I am a part of my school’s rocketry team. I like to work out and play basketball in my free time. 🏀 I also play a little bit of piano. 🎹 What do you enjoy most about the ABES internship? I have enjoyed learning the way an engineering business operates and seeing the different roles everybody plays in ensuring both that work is coming in, as well as that the clients’ expectations are exceeded. What’s one thing you’ve learned about engineering or entrepreneurship? I have learned that it’s important to always keep a growth mindset throughout one’s career. 📈 #internship #summerinternship #aerospaceengineering
