Tic Tic Tic Tic…Is it time to refresh your forklift operators training? Poor habits can be overcome with fresh training and a consistent program of accountability for operators and pedestrians. Are your lifts scarred and scratched up? Most are, poor driving habits are the leading cause. Poor driving habits lead to costly rack damage, product damage, forklift damage, pedestrian, and operator incidents leading to lost time and/or death. Do you record and track Near Misses? What are your Safety Meeting discussions like? Have you identified hazardous areas with a walk around of your facility? Statistically, each day you delay identifying hazards in your facility draws you closer to an undesirable outcome. Before someone in your care becomes a victim of negligence, increase the odds in your favor by prioritizing safer working conditions. The benefits far outweigh the costs of complacency. No better time than now to invest in Forklift Operator Safety Training. We offer training on all types of Lift Trucks, Aerial Work Platforms, Fall Arrest Training, and Skid Steer Loaders. Call John Conrad, 662-719-1371 to meet and discuss a better path to safety in your workplace for pedestrians and forklift operators. You are not wasting anyone’s time to listen and evaluate your options. Please read below for ideas and areas to start with from The Lilly Company. Today there are many add-ons and products available that can enhance awareness and make your operation a safe place to work in.
While pedestrians have the right-of-way when it comes to OSHA forklift pedestrian safety rules, that doesn’t prevent accidents from happening. Forklifts are dangerous; weighing as much as six cars, despite their smaller size. With just a few steps, you can dramatically increase your pedestrian safety around forklifts: 1️⃣ Use overhead and rear-view mirrors on forklifts 2️⃣ Ensure alarms and flashing signals are in working order on all warehouse forklifts 3️⃣ Mark pedestrian walkways in warehouse locations with forklift traffic 4️⃣ Restrict specific areas to forklift traffic only 5️⃣ Add handrails to increase pedestrian safety around forklifts 6️⃣ Limit overhead door access to forklifts and use man doors for pedestrians

Happy National Forklift Safety Day! Stay safe in your warehouse by following these steps to protect pedestrians and reduce forklift injuries at your worksite: — Remind all employees that they need to be aware of their surroundings at all times — Train forklift operators in the proper use of their vehicles and how to avoid striking pedestrians — Perform regular inspections of lift trucks to detect any defects in steering, brakes, horn or backup alarms — Whenever possible, separate pedestrians from lift trucks by providing separate pedestrian walkways with railings or other protective barriers — Install convex mirrors at blind aisle intersections — Keep aisles and passageways clear #ForkliftSafety #AlbanyInternational #WeavingOurDestiny

In recognition of National Forklift Safety Day, let's take a moment to emphasize the importance of safe forklift operations. Forklifts are essential to our productivity, but they must be operated with care to protect everyone in the workplace. Here are some key safety tips to remember: Maintain a safe distance | Keep at least three forklift lengths away from other forklifts and a minimum of four feet away from pedestrians. Stay alert | Always face your direction of travel and stop the lift before looking away. Drive safely | Operate the forklift at a safe speed and ensure your load is stable and secure. #SafetyatSC #sclogistics

Forklifts are an integral part any facility that uses pallets, and it's critical for operators to follow the rules to ensure safety for all employees: -Always give pedestrians the right of way -Always go slow and honk the horn when approaching pedestrians. Be sure to make and maintain eye contact. -Always go slow and sound the horn at intersections -Always keep a 3-foot buffer around a forklift -Be aware of the rear swing and aisle obstruction -Always watch for side clearance. Be aware of the width of each load and allow enough distance to maneuver without incident. -Always be aware of low clearance, especially when traveling in and out of trailers. #safetytipoftheweek #worksafety #stayontopofitall #forkliftsafety #workplacesafety
