What do you think? When you as a team player discuss a solution to a system with your team and there is always that one person who will say the solution is not needed, but goes behind to discuss the same solution with your manager as their percieved idea. Have you been there?

Speed kills. Yet the software industry is obsessed with moving as fast as possible. My hobby is having hobbies. Gaming, golf, cycling, car racing, painting... each of those taught a lesson that smooth is fast. Also that blindly rushing, trying to force a situation, will result in undesired outcomes. Speed only comes with practice, repetition and diligent attention to detail. So when you are asking your team to "fail fast", have you given them time to practice slow first? Is the majority of the team veterans who have the fail fast muscle memory to keep them safe? Is someone monitoring/reviewing progress and providing constructive feedback? If not, you aren't failing fast, you are just failing your team.

Same bench, same team Your competition loves to see internal confusion and frustration. They don’t have to work as hard for a victory. Focus on team norms. The best approach to resolving disputes once they’ve erupted is to refer back to something the team can, or has already, agreed on. Nobody’s perfect, but don’t let an implosion tear the team down.
