#Coaches,#USL,#MLS & #Germany….
We work in #soccer in DFB , U.S. Soccer Federation and Canada Soccer since more than two decades and so far we focused on players. What about coaches?
I think it’s fair to say that German coaches are doing pretty good (😉) in all over the world.. Just to name a few: Juergen Klopp/Liverpool Football Club , Roger Schmidt/Sport Lisboa e Benfica , Ralf Rangnick, Daniel Farke/Leeds United , André Breitenreiter/Huddersfield Town Football Club , Jupp Heynckes /former Real Madrid C.F., etc. , Felix Magath, etc. etc.. (I could fill this post with only mentioning names….)
I always get asked why (real 😉) German coaches are so rare in United Soccer League (USL) , Major League Soccer or Canadian Premier League.
Let try to analyse it:
So let’s look at UEFA Champions League semi-final this season:
Four clubs including the two power (and money) houses: Paris Saint-Germain /France and Real Madrid C.F. /Spain, but two (50%) German clubs with two German coaches:
FC Bayern München with Thomas Tuchel, Borussia Dortmund with Edin Terzic!
We all know that Germany has the 50%+1 rule so basically no investors like the other clubs in English Premier League , Seria A, etc., which means money is more limited and needs to be “earned”.
We also know that the DFB professional coaching license is one of the most difficult to achieve, with the most time investment needed, etc.
Coaches with DFB licenses are the most successful coaches world wide since many years.
The 1 (in words: One) German coach right now in MLS, USL and CPL is Sandro Schwarz /New York Red Bulls in MLS and he never played in North America and he never coached in North America before and steps in and is immediately the most successful coach in 2024 in MLS (at the moment: 1.88 PPG)!
Coaches need to make players better, coaches need to make teams better, coaches need to develop talents and need to bring success to their clubs!
We started to work on a list of top German coaches who want to coach in America, who will fit fantastic to the USA & Canada within United Soccer League (USL) , Major League Soccer and Canadian Premier League and we are sure they will help North American soccer to continue its growth, but also raise the level of the game, the player development, the transfers of players to Europe/Germany (biggest market for North Americans by far) and also overachieve in all aspects for their club.
#soccer is a world game so sometimes thinking out of the “domestic” box is the game changer….⚽️🇩🇪🇺🇸🇨🇦🔝
