#diabetesmanagement If you have type 2 diabetes, talk with your healthcare team about your glucose-lowering medications to make sure that your treatment plan addresses hyperglycemia in the early morning. Each person’s body is different, and you may experience a combination of these high glucose levels throughout the night and morning. If you have a CGM, you can better track your glucose levels throughout the night to identify trends. If you don’t use CGM all the time, ask your health care provider about a professional CGM, in which the device is put on by your healthcare provider for two weeks. Your healthcare provider can download the data and discuss it with you after the two-week period. Otherwise, the more frequently you check your glucose levels with a glucose meter, the better. Click to learn more about professional CGM and how to get the most out of your fingersticks. Finally, share any trends you notice with your healthcare team so that you can find the best ways to stabilise your blood sugar for the entire night. And, as always, talk with your healthcare provider before making any changes to your medication regimen. #diabetesawareness

Insulin pens can be significantly easier to use than syringes and vials — but there are a few limits with pens, too. Like the dosing. Sure, it's fun and easy to twist and turn that little knob, dialing up your dose with those little clicks, but what if you want to take less than 1 unit or less than .5 units? Yes, people with diabetes need teeny tiny doses of insulin sometimes! Pens don't really offer that option. That's ONE reason why I hack my insulin pen with syringes. Implementing safety measures during insulin administration is of utmost importance to safeguard your health and enhance your overall well-being. Insulin, a life-sustaining medication for individuals with diabetes, requires careful handling and administration to ensure its effectiveness and prevent any potential risks. Accurate dosing is essential to maintain stable blood sugar levels and avoid complications. Double-checking the dosage, using the correct syringe or insulin pen, and following your healthcare provider's instructions are vital steps in achieving precise insulin administration. Proper storage of insulin is equally crucial. Maintaining the recommended temperature and avoiding exposure to extreme heat or freezing temperatures helps preserve its potency and efficacy. Remember to check expiration dates and discard any expired or compromised insulin to maintain its effectiveness. By prioritizing safety measures during insulin administration, you actively take charge of your health and contribute to effective diabetes management. It empowers you to maintain stable blood sugar levels, reduce the risk of complications, and promote overall wellness. #SafetyFirst #InsulinAdministration #DiabetesManagement #WellnessMatters #HealthCareAwareness #StayInformed #TakeChargeOfYourHealth #DiabetesEducation #PrioritizeSafety

In the realm of diabetes management, GLP-1 medications like Ozempic have been hailed as game-changers. But as we know, what works wonders for one individual may not suit another. Recently, a patient sought our guidance in refining their diabetes regimen. Despite being prescribed Ozempic alongside Jardiance, they experienced significant gastrointestinal discomfort. This discomfort persisted even at the lowest therapeutic dose of Ozempic, hindering their ability to achieve optimal blood sugar control. 💡 The Tria Health Solution: Through a comprehensive medication review, our pharmacist identified an opportunity for simplification. We recommended discontinuing Ozempic while continuing with Jardiance monotherapy. 📈 The Results Speak Volumes: By eliminating the bothersome side effects of Ozempic, our patient not only experienced relief but also maintained excellent blood sugar control.
