Jemena’s People’s Panel shaping the future of the #electricitynetwork! As a part of the #Jemena #electricity 2026-31 #PriceReset, a #PeoplesPanel came together to learn about and help shape the future of the #network. Made up of 50 diverse customers, the People’s Panel spent three days understanding what it takes to run an #electricitydistributionnetwork and began their discussions on how Jemena should prepare for a #sustainable #energy future while meeting #customer and #community needs today. In these sessions, Panel members had the opportunity to tour the Broadmeadows South #Substation and took part in a demonstration led by two Crew Leaders, Samantha Jones and Nick Amadori, of how they use #safety equipment and an Elevated Work Platform vehicle in their day-to-day field roles. Shaun Reardon, the Executive General Manager of Jemena Networks, said: “The #electricityindustry is changing so much. There are #electricvehicles, there’s #solar, there’s so many things we need to think about when it comes to how we’re going to integrate. We’ve got lots of questions to put our customers (that include what’s most important to them when thinking about their #futureenergy usage) and get their guidance on what’s most important to them.” The People’s Panel will continue their deliberations and discussions to inform their final recommendations to Jemena on 20 April 2024 to inform the draft plan.
