Organizations ask me... "Should we apply for grants? Try to use social media? Run a raffle? Go back to doing dinners now that we're not in COVID...." Look... There isn't a wrong way to get donations. But when it comes to your annual campaign.... Relying on something like a raffle to cover your budget isn’t the greatest strategy. A school approached us asking how we could help. What they didn’t realize is that they had everything they needed to raise over $100,000. When I said that to them, they didn’t believe me. They thought that raising $30,000 from their annual raffle was good enough. Why was I so confident? Because when you combine their students, alumni, parents, and staff, you get way over 100 people. So what? Each one of those people can be recruited as a fundraising ambassador and take on a personal goal. And that’s what happened.
