"Strive for BETTER, strive to be MIEUX!" It was a privilege for me to participate as a speaker at the MIEUX Initiative Impact Event: Celebrating 15 Years of Partnerships and Peer Exchange on Migration Governance, held in Brussels on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The closing ceremony aimed to acknowledge the collective impact achieved over the years, celebrate milestones, share valuable insights and lessons learned, and provide an interactive platform for networking and knowledge-sharing on targeted capacity development in migration governance and management. The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) MIEUX Initiative has played a crucial role in fostering collaboration between the European Union and partner countries like Kyrgyzstan, enhancing understanding of migration dynamics. It has facilitated the convergence of diverse stakeholders to develop national and regional migration objectives, supported the establishment of institutional cooperation frameworks, and equipped MIEUX partners with tailored practices, solutions, and policies. A heartfelt gratitude goes out to the MIEUX family - Ralph Genetzke, Alfred Woeger, Megan Pilli, Oleg Chirița, Diana Hincu, and many others for their unwavering support and commitment to our shared initiatives. We are anticipating the next endeavor from the MIEUX family with great excitement! #ICMPD, #MIEUX, #EuropeanComission, #EU, #DGINPA, #Brussels, #MigrationGovernance, #CapacityDevelopment, #Peer2PeerExchange, #Partnerships

The African Union's (AU) Agenda 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming the continent into a global powerhouse of the future. This strategic framework aims to deliver inclusive and sustainable development, reflecting the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress, and collective prosperity. In line with Agenda 2063, the 6th Pan-African Cultural Congress (PACC) will take place in Moroni, Union of Comoros, from September 25-27, 2024. This year's theme, "Arts, Culture, Heritage, and Education: Levers for Building 'THE AFRICA WE WANT'," will drive dynamic discussions and innovative strategies to transform our continent. Selam, through the Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA) - a joint effort between Selam and the AU - that seeks to empower Africa's Culture through sustainable public funding will participate in the conference, aiming to lobby African governments to allocate at least 1% of their national budgets to culture and creative industries by 2030. Save the date and be part of shaping the future! Let’s advocate for increased investment in our cultural and creative sector. #Agenda2063 #PACC2024 #TheAfricaWeWant #1PercentForCulture

The #D4DHub invited members of its advisory groups to join the #TeamEurope delegation at the Connected Africa Summit (#CAS2024). The D4D Hub advisory groups are formal structures that allow the private sector, academia, and civil society to have a formal dialogue with the European Union and its Member States to jointly work towards a human-centric digital transformation. Therefore, the activity’s objective was to ensure that different stakeholder groups could have a say in the discussions on the Africa-Europe digital partnership. "We urgently need meaningful and dynamic partnerships to foster trust and coordinated digital interventions from both Africa and Europe,” said Shamira Ahmed, founder and executive director of the Data Economy Policy Hub (DepHUB), and chair of the D4D Hub civil society and academia advisory group. “Having the private sector take an active part in the discussions will give a more inclusive and multi-stakeholder approach to Africa-Europe cooperation,” said Paul Mbua, founder of Zixtech Hub and chair for Africa of the D4D Hub private sector advisory group.
