One of our top highlights at FSCDR 2024 included hosting our second live recording of Cheat Codes: A Sickle Cell Podcast. During the session, we were joined by leaders within the #sicklecell community including Dr. Wanda Whitten-Shurney, Rae Blaylark, Howard Ffrench, TaLana Hughes, and Tabatha McGee and DeMetrious Wyant. They shared the positive impact that community-based organization (CBO) advocacy groups have on the sickle cell community. Stay tuned for this special live episode once it's released, and as we inch closer to #WorldSickleCellDay, tune in to previous Cheat Codes episodes featuring thought-provoking conversations with individuals who have firsthand experience with #SCD. I had the honor of being a guest on the Inclusive Education Project's podcast. I have learned so much about advocacy for accessible education from their podcast, very exciting to be included in their work. We recorded a 2 part series. Part 1 was released today and we're talking about systemic discrimination towards disabled students (Abelism) in the education system. Part 2 to be released next week!
