AFCS is proud to have among its ranks three civilian Airmen who’ve been named “Outstanding Airmen of the Year” by the U.S. Department of the Air Force. This is no small achievement, considering AFCS is 170,000 civilians strong. This year’s recipients of the prestigious “Civilian of the Year” are Nicholas Waller, 319th Security Forces Squadron, Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota; Raymond Pelletier, 325th Fighter Wing, Tyndall AFB, Florida; and William Miller, 33rd Cyberspace Operations Squadron, JBSA-Lackland, Texas. Congratulations to all three for not just rising to the occasion but going above and beyond.

From these trials and experiences, flywheel device training provides a variable load modality to target power, strength, and likely aerobic outcomes. Thus, this modality is a practical tool for deployed environments where space is limited (e.g., space, military ships, police departments, fire departments, aircraft hangars, military operational forward operating bases).

America’s ‘Air Wing Of The Future’ Takes Shape In The Pacific Making its Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) debut, the USS Carl Vinson's CVW-2 Advanced Air Wing is bringing unmatched capabilities to the front lines of U.S. Naval Aviation in a way not seen since the Cold War. The U.S. Navy is pushing hard to deliver Advanced Air Wing capabilities to the entire fleet, and the USS Carl Vinson is the carrier to set an example for years to come as dozens of new capabilities are added. Between non-kinetic capabilities in the F-35’s Tech Refresh 3 (TR-3) and EA-18G AN/ALQ-249 NGJ-MB, and kinetic capabilities like the AGM-88G AARGM-ER and AIM-174B ALC, the Carl Vinson is pushing the envelope in advanced capabilities that are being fielded in the Pacific, completing another keystone of the United States in its pivot to the Indo-Pacific. “Our carrier air wing and carrier strike group is a constantly evolving capability. We are bringing the air wing of the future this time to RIMPAC. That allows us to focus on those new capabilities and integrating them with our allies and partners. It allows us to go out and test interoperability. operate together, and see how all those capabilities fit into that overall mix.” Rear Admiral Micheal S. Wosje, Commander, Carrier Strike Group ONE. #ICYMI Rear Adm. Doug Verissimo, Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic participated in a panel discussion, April 9, at the 2024 Sea-Air-Space Convention to discuss modernizing our efforts to improve and increase warfighter readiness. He addressed the capability of the carrier strike group and the ability to adapt for worldwide operations. “I am unabashedly a huge fan of the carrier strike group and the capability they bring. My view in generating readiness, and how we generate readiness across the carrier strike group fleet, is that it’s an all-hands, all-team effort. You can really see how that integrated certified force, that gets put together by the fleet commanders, evaluated by the carrier strike groups on either coast for the emerging threat, is developed, expanded, understood, and fed back to those folks who are going out [to deploy] to be the most capable," said Rear Adm. Verissimo. #SAS24 #MaritimePower #flynavy #flynavylant

"Glad to be here." If you've seen the newly released Blue Angels documentary, you may have picked up on this utterance in between the phenomenal aerial sequences. At any time there are seven US Navy (and United States Marine Corps) aviators that make up the Flight Demonstration Squadron, out of more than 7,000 current naval aircrew. Fewer than 300 pilots have ever served in The Blues, far less than the number of aviators that have graduated TOPGUN. The Blue Angels are special, but the 158 active duty sailors and marines that constitute the team don't view themselves as that. They are a part of something greater, and extraordinarily grateful to be a part of that special team each and every day. The Blue Angels’ greeting, motto, mindset, and ethos is fundamentally "Glad to be here." The phrase is deeply embedded in their high-performance culture, and the attached document by former Blue Angels lead solo pilot John Foley illustrates the power of those four words, for The Blues, and others who seek perfection as a team. If I’m having a bad day at work, or if I ever view myself as being more important than the team and organisation, “Glad to be here” is a grounding statement. #pilottraining #blueangels #aviation #usnavy #navalaviation #teamwork

"Glad to be here"! Thank you, John Foley, for sharing your insights and clearly explaining the importance of this mindset and the relevance of the Diamond Performance Framework to high-performing teams. Thank you Alexander Robinson for sharing! Here are few quotes that resonated with me: Closing the Gap • “Sustained success requires constant improvement.” 🔄 The Brief—Focused Preparation • “In the real world, nobody is telepathic or psychic. If you want people to understand what you’re trying to accomplish, you have to explain it—in detail.” 🧠 • “The brief contains the relevant details that people need before they get started.” 📋 Contracts—Disciplined Execution • “Execution through trust” 🤝 The Debrief—Celebrate Your Victories • “The debrief is an inward look for an outward result.” 🔍➡️🌟 • “The key to the debrief is total honesty.” 🗝️🗣️ • “It is the most important facet of the Diamond Performance Framework and should be embedded firmly in your organization’s culture.” 💎 • “You cannot improve your performance unless you are totally honest about what you did right—and what you did wrong.” 📈📉 The Drive for Continuous Improvement • “With training and practice, I kept getting better—and so can you!” 🚀 The Yellow Helmet • “A culture of excellence doesn’t exchange one set of skills and values for another—it builds on those skills and values, raising them to a higher level.” ⛑️🌟 Read more below 👇 hashtag #highperformance #teamdynamics #GladToBeHere #leadership

Couldn't agree with our CTO more strongly. Performance-based logistics (PBL) taken to another level is what IFS deems as Total Asset Readiness® (TAR®) and NMRO, of which IFS is a key component, is an outstanding example. #aerospaceanddefense

Did you know that the US has aggressor squadrons in the United States Air Force, US Navy, and United States Marine Corps? These pilots simulate tactics used by other countries during exercises. Below is a video of an F-16 (aggressor) vs a pair of F-15s to show you what I mean. Hasard Lee also has videos like this on YouTube; I recommend you check them out! #veterans #veteransupport #veteranshelpingveterans
