Another local event for Defankle Innovation yesterday at the ScotlandIS cluster conference. This time on a panel discussing #Sustainable #Innovation, specifically around product design (although loads of AI chat). Lots of stimulating discussions fuelled by morning session talks from Mike Robinson and Dieter Helm. The conversation was sobering with hints of hopeful optimism. Key takeaways: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧The U.K., and in particular Scotland, are doing lots of exciting things to improve the sustainability of technology. Let’s tell these stories more! ⏰💚The very best time to think about sustainability is before you start projects - right at the very beginning (as well as throughout). 💪Understanding the ‘problems’ around sustainability (and, actually, any aspect of innovation) is an opportunity for learning, improved innovation and better business. Will climate tech be the next thing that fuels a new entrepreneurial era? 💡   It was truly inspiring to join today’s AustrianStartups Summit 2024 along an esteemed lineup of speakers in a fireside chat supported by TU Wien – Academy for Continuing Education. Together with Eva Sommer, Markus Fuhrmann, and Tina Deutsch, we delved into "The State of Europe’s Climate Tech", a candid discussion hosted by Julia Isabelle Gerber.   We looked into the role of technology in addressing climate challenges, exploring whether it could indeed be the solution to fuel a new entrepreneurial era. Here are my key takeaways from our discussion:   🎯 Hydrogen is a strategic goal for the European Union and I am impressed by the development the field has seen over the last decades and years.
