Huge Thank You to our amazing Who I Am Foundation #volunteers in #Albuquerque who came out to Saturday morning's Community Clean-Up project! Our volunteers picked up over 4 BAGS of trash at Tingley Beach, in a little over 2 hours! Showcasing the impact you can make in the community by simply volunteering 1-2 hours a week. These Community Clean-Up projects are conducted each month, and our team will rotate around to different parts of Santa Fe, to clean up streets, neighborhoods, and parks. Volunteer-led projects such as these are one of the quickest, simplest, and least expensive ways to inspire more community spirit and civic action. A visually appealing #community increases property values, attracts businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. Beauty is one of the three most influential factors in community attachment, which means loyalty, to your particular town or city. Some research even shows that a nice-looking neighborhood promotes good behavior. If you know of any parks or neighborhoods that could use some beautification, simply comment below! #EnvironmentalOutreach Awesome job #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque

On my travels workplaces will ask how they can create a "good workplace culture". A good workplace culture should be the goal for every company. I have observed a myriad of benefits that a good workplace culture can have. Safety is better, worker attrition is low, worker's pride in their job is high, etc. One simple method of facilitating a workplace culture is to get the workers to interact with each other away from their jobs and their workplace responsibilities. What better way than for employees to work together for the benefit of the local community. As Gränges Americas Inc. shows us with their great post. When workplaces have volunteer opportunities for the their employees everyone wins. It is these simple volunteer opportunities that allow employees to deal with their coworkers away from the stress of work. Job titles mean little when one is volunteering. Why, because employees are working together to complete a task. These events allows individuals to get to know their coworker(s) on a way that they cannot at their workplace. This interpersonal connection that is achieved can provide so many rewards to either growing or maintaining a good work culture. Keep up the good work Gränges Americas Inc. ! I do love your posts.
Employer community responsibility refers to the obligation that businesses have to contribute positively to the communities in which they operate. This responsibility goes beyond simply making profits and encompasses various actions aimed at improving the well-being of the community and addressing social, environmental, and economic challenges. Employer community responsibility is about recognizing the interconnectedness between businesses and the communities they serve and taking proactive steps to contribute positively to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of those communities. By fulfilling their community responsibilities, employers can build trust, strengthen relationships, and create shared value for both their businesses and the communities in which they operate. Thank you to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for letting our team in Huntingdon including Ryan Brockman, Connor Pinson, Rachel Carter, Hannah Belew, Erik Belew, Joseph Richardson, and many more be involved in such a wonderful outing. #Secondharvest #communityinvolvement #volunteers

The start of our new temperate rainforest in the hyper-oceanic climate zone at the heart of Exmoor and part of an extensive nature based solution to slow the progress of water into the River Barle.
Thank you to everyone who came along to help plant trees for Kings Wood. Despite physical challenges working on a steep slope, everyone dug in and we planted 1000 trees – including oak and birch. To see progress so far - walk the lovely footpath from Simonsbath to Cow Castle. #volunteering #naturerecovery

🌳✨ Celebrating Volunteer Week at Community Wood Recycling ✨🌳 ♻️ As we strive to build a circular economy, our social mission at Community Wood Recycling goes even further. We’re dedicated to creating social impact by offering meaningful opportunities to those in greatest need. Our volunteers are not just working with wood waste; they are reconstructing their futures through the training, work experience, and social connections we provide. 💚 This #VolunteerWeek, we are honouring the heart of what we do – our invaluable volunteers. Your unwavering commitment and tireless efforts are central to our mission to promote sustainable wood recycling. 🌎 You do more than just helping our planet; with you we can weave the fabric of a stronger, more connected community. 🌱 Thank you for everything you do. 🔨 With the support of our partners across the construction industry and beyond who choose us for their waste wood collections, we will continue to empower individuals grappling with challenges like unemployment, homelessness, and addiction recovery. Our inclusive approach creates a path for those with disabilities and aids the integration into the workplace of people overcoming addiction, those who have had mental health challenges and survivors of human trafficking. By volunteering with us, individuals get more than job skills—they reclaim hope and self-confidence, building a community where everyone has the opportunity to make a difference. #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #Volunteers #SocialImpact #CommunityEmpowerment #socialvalue

“No Mow May has now become Can’t be Arsed August” How 𝗻𝗼𝘁 to create change. 😳 This is a story about a community coming together to take action on the environment. But not in the way you might expect. They've clubbed together to 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 the council's rewilding scheme. 😮 Essential reading for anyone seeking to understand: • why community engagement is so important • the dangers of top-down action • how local change happens Take a read: https://lnkd.in/eD-Chjmk 📰 ++ P.S. 🌞🚚 Sunday Vinnies Soup Van Run Update 🚚🌞 Braving Melbourne's scorching summer heat, our Inner City Vinnies Soup Van team embarked on the usual Sunday run yesterday. It was a tough one, I'd have to say. The demand for food hampers was exceptionally high, leaving us without supply for our last two stops – a stark reminder of the pressing need in our community. I had never seen that before. Have you thought about it? For many of us, summer and the heat bring unique challenges and some additional ones for people experiencing homelessness: How do you store your medication in extreme heat? I was reminded of that when seeing someone with prescribed medications next to them yesterday.☀ Where do you seek refuge when temperatures soar above 35 degrees and it’s hot even in the shade? Our dedicated volunteers hit the streets daily, seeing the challenges and providing crucial support as best as possible, because, well, homelessness doesn't take a heat break. To combat heat and dehydration, we distributed special summer hampers with essentials like sunscreen, deodorant, insect repellent, caps, and extra water bottles. Socks, a year-round necessity, were also in high demand. We never seem to have enough, regardless of the seasons. I am truly privileged and humbled to be part of this impactful movement - to work with Vinnies Vic, as St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria is lovingly called, but also to be a volunteer, and I really admire those who have been so much longer than myself: During the day or the week, they juggle roles as civil engineers, school principals, electricians, carpenters. They work on international ad campaigns; they are students, mums, dads, sons, and daughters, all trying to make someone else's life who needs support just that little bit better. If you feel inspired to contribute, here's a link https://lnkd.in/gfghfdiv. It's worth it. 🤝❤️ #Volunteering #socialimpact #givingback #homelessness #donateforchange #changemakers

Leading up until our Garden Party, we will be shouting out our sponsors here and there. This year, we've named each of our sponsor tiers after a different part of a garden. The tier we're highlighting today is our "Wildflower" sponsor tier. [Keep reading because we have some mushy words to say!] Wildflowers, by definition, grow without being intentionally seeded or planted. They often emerge where least expected, and cannot be isolated as any one type of flower. In recognition of the persistent vibrancy of wildflowers, we have named this sponsorship tier the “Wildflower Sponsor”. This tier is for those persistent, fierce, warm hearted community partners of ours who are eager to join forces with fellow “wildflowers” to create a sea of change. We welcome into the wildflower garden businesses who walk-the-talk of community engagement. Umpqua is not only our own bank, but one which makes an effort to promote community involvement and volunteerism where their branches are located. We enjoy working with Umpqua because when we talk about what's needed in our community, they not only find ways to support us, but they personally know the people who live here. Shout out to our very favorite Lori. Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup), recognizes access to civil legal services is a social determinant of health. It's liberating when a sponsor just "gets it" and we are honored to say that about Wellpoint. They are not only stepping up to sponsor this event, but also support the work our Survivor Support program does for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Finally, Truth in Litigation is integral to our day-to-day work. Founder Doug Steves works alongside our clients to provide Court Navigation and Court Readiness/Preparation support. Whether it's helping someone know what to expect when they walk into court without a lawyer, or practice what they want to say in a hearing, Doug promotes agency, autonomy, and dignity with our clients. He is 100% part of the CCVLP family, and we love that we get to promote him here! Truth in Litigation (the business) provides a wide range of services for law firms and their clients, including Voir Dire practice, coaching, jury selection help, witness preparation and more. Of course these folks and more will all be at our Garden Party, because who could miss it?! We can't wait to play at the farm with them (and you!). If you haven't gotten your tickets yet to our Garden Party, make sure to scoop those up before they're sold out. We promise an amazing time with incredible people in a beautiful setting. https://buff.ly/3TH7b15
