🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 THANK YOU! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Our phenomenal community has raised a grand total of £70,408.79 this Pride to help us on our mission to end LGBTQ+ youth homelessness! This support has massively helped akt's ability to ensure the safety of LGBTQ+ young people. This totals to 141 young people we are able to provide with a deposit for their new home, or cover their first month's rent. 🌈 From EVERYONE at akt, we want to thank you for all the support you've shown us this Pride! 💜 #aktcharity #EndYouthHomelessness #SafeToBe

Some important messages to share
Yesterday, we (SASH London) facilitated a talk on Gender and Sexuality Diversity Awareness for Imperial Health Charity volunteers. We had informative discussions on the impact of homophobic and transphobic behaviour and reflected on the importance of action and making spaces more inclusive. Thank you to all those who attended and continue to raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community.

How to support the lqbtq+ community while staying on brand: 🏳️🌈 If you’re an e-commerce business, you can create limited-edition merchandise and donate the proceeds. 🏳️🌈 Finding a cause to support will have the most tangible impact. 🏳️🌈Simply expressing support online and advocating for needs. 🏳️🌈 Spotlighting queer team members with their consent. 🏳️🌈 Promoting queer-owned businesses with their consent. 🏳️🌈and if you’re an LGBTQ+, share tips on how to be a good ally. #pridemonth #pride #mentalhealth #selfcare #community #support #lgbtadvocacy

📢 Empowering LGBTQIA+ Voices Against Hate 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Did you know that only 1 in 8 hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals in the UK are reported? It's time to change that, and the Zoteria app is here to help. I'm proud (yup, that is me and my dear friend Ajay Pabial 🏳️🌈 on set back in March) to support Stonewall UK's latest initiative, Zoteria. This discreet and powerful app is making a real difference in combating hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ Why Zoteria matters: • 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: Zoteria prioritizes user privacy, making it a safe space to report incidents without fear of being outed. • 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Each report contributes to valuable data that helps advocate for policy changes and better support services. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Zoteria empowers individuals to take action and be part of the solution in combating hate crimes. In a world where hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals are still far too common, Zoteria is a crucial step towards a safer and more inclusive society. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗭𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 and let your voice be heard. App links 📲 in the comments. #Zoteria #Stonewall #LGBTQIA
Happy Pub Pride! The night where venues celebrate their local LGBTQ+ community, and welcome Pride month in their hometown 🌈 Our Zoteria app will feature in pubs across the UK from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June. Pub Pride was started 4 years ago by @AskforClive, a charity that partners with venues to promote inclusion and to create welcoming environments for the LGBTQ+ community. We are so excited to partner with Ask for Clive this year to help ensure that everybody has a great night out 📱📱 Look out for Zoteria in your local pub, or find a Pub Pride event to attend in the app https://bit.ly/3HW9JTg

The humble journey of the Smiling Rainbow platform begins on February 19, 2019, with only one mission: SHARING PAIN MUST NOT BE EXPENSIVE. Over this period we have provided free counseling to thousands of individuals nationwide. Initially, our platform catered exclusively to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Over time, however, we began to receive inquiries and calls from individuals of various backgrounds. Based on our experience we have observed many trends in society, whereas few trends are ironic and on the other hand few are disturbing. In an attempt to spread awareness, we are going to share many such information in our #NoMotivationOnlyInformation campaign. The purpose of that series is simply to spread information in society instead of motivation. No one desires to succumb to depression. When individuals find themselves immersed in the depths of despair, all they seek is steadfast support to prevent them from sinking. We aspire to be that unwavering support, by offering a new, comprehensive platform that provides free or affordable counseling for all without discrimination. We did our best for years to ensure #FreeCounselingServiceForAll. Finally, we had to stop our free counseling service from August 2023 onwards due to a funding constraint. To resume our #FreeCounselingServiceForAll we need your support. Your generous contribution could bring much-needed relief to many lives. IF YOU FEEL OUR INITIATIVE IS WORTH YOUR PRECIOUS SUPPORT PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING US BY CLICKING ON OUR DONATION FORM: https://lnkd.in/gK4UhjRK #FreeOnlineCounseling #NoMotivationOnlyInformation #MentalHealthMatters #SpreadHope #SupportEachOther

For the LGBTQ+ community, social determinants of health play a major role in health outcomes. 1.5 million people a year experience homelessness, and for members of the LGBTQ+ community, the statistics are much worse. This #pridemonth we revisit a blog from Chief Operating Officer Matt Goudreau, highlighting ways you can take action or volunteer, along with wonderful organizations to support: https://hubs.la/Q02DkgCs0

GSBA is excited to let you know that The Washington State Department of Commerce has asked us to reach out to the LGBTQ+ community on their behalf. Specifically, they want to hear about what types of facilities (housing and/or non-housing) are most needed in the coming 5-10 years. This information will be used to determine how funding is distributed by the Dept. Of Commerce to Community-Based Organizations who are planning capital projects. The survey has only 3 questions and should not take you more than 5 minutes to complete. The final question of the survey will ask you if you are willing to participate in a follow-up interview, and GSBA is offering stipends ($45-$105) to LGBTQ+ community members (including extra $ for child/adult care if needed) who are willing to elaborate further on their initial responses via a ~30-minute, virtual meeting with a GSBA team member. Take the survey here: bit.ly/GSBANeedsSurvey

It's crucial that NGOs and organizations working to support marginalized groups, like disabled individuals and the LGBTQ+ community, rely on accurate data. Overestimating figures or misrepresenting information to gain more attention or funding can lead to misallocated resources and undermine the credibility of these organizations. Transparency and integrity are essential to ensure that the efforts genuinely benefit the communities they aim to support and that trust is maintained. Based on my experience working with such NGOs, I believe we must prioritize accurate data to create effective programs that truly address the needs of these communities.
