Last week the world celebrated International Biodiversity Day 🌍. Have you heard about it? In a world of rapid technological advancement, it's important to remember that our survival depends on healthy and vibrant ecosystems. Yes, that's true. It's about us❗ For everyone in the world. And we should have this in mind every day. From water and food to medicine and energy - everything comes from nature, we should and must never forget that. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻? In December 2022, the world took an important step by adopting the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework, known as the Biodiversity Plan. This global agreement sets concrete targets to halt and even reverse the loss of biodiversity by 2050. The United Nations "Be part of the plan" campaign calls on everyone - governments, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, companies and citizens - to actively participate in the implementation of the plan. To achieve this goal: ▪️ We regularly measure and publish our ecological footprint. ▪️ We implement conservation and restoration plans at all our sites and take measures to conserve water in water-scarce areas. ▪️ We have also introduced a new commitment: We want to source 100% wood without deforestation. We believe that this commitment has the potential to reduce our impact on land use related to wood.
