Last weekend, our CDO, Wisely Chen, represented us at the Generative AI Summit. During the event, he shared insights on how we are tackling three major challenges in our daily logistics operations: talent acquisition difficulties, process bottlenecks, and the improvement of paper-based workflows. "At Ally Transport, we don't pursue AI for the sake of AI. We dive deep into the frontlines to understand the logistics industry's knowledge and key pain points. By leveraging Generative AI as the thinker(the mind), RPA as the actor(the limb), and RAG as the foundational knowledge, we can automate processes traditionally reliant on human expertise, making the digitization of paper-based tasks smarter and more efficient." #Logistics #DigitalTransformation #AI #RPA

歡迎閱讀文章:https://lnkd.in/ge2BGdjd In my recent #BusinessWeekly column, I discussed the crucial role of introducing AI in companies. To achieve AI transformation, companies must consider five core issues: setting AI goals, choosing the right technology platform, defining cross-departmental AI experiences, adjusting organizational structures, and adhering to AI governance. Addressing these can align AI with organizational strengths and long-term goals, boosting the success of AI transformation. This morning I had the absolute pleasure to speak with Helen Mannion and Elizabeth Harris about GenAI and how we go beyond the hype. I spoke about the role of experimentation in making GenAI a reality and in this new piece I wrote for TechRadar Pro, I explore why experimentation is so important when implementing AI. For one, it offers a practical middle ground between caution and speed, keeping both C-suites and tech teams happy. It also allows organisations to identify valuable AI use cases, address data quality issues, and ensure reliable outcomes. Internationally Known AI and Cloud Computing Thought Leader and Influencer, Enterprise Technology Innovator, Educator, Best Selling Author, Speaker, Business Leader, Over the Hill Mountain Biker.
FAQs for this video posted on Friday: 1. Is all AI way too over-hyped? We've seen something different from what's happening around generative AI in my career. AI has tremendous value that it can bring to businesses if appropriately used and not overspending and overbuilding for the technology. Also, generative AI will never disappear, as I noted in this video. The argument is that Generative AI may be overused and overhyped and, in many instances, is not the most cost-effective technology to leverage. Again, it depends on the business problems you're looking to solve. 2. If it's overhyped and under-delivering, why is there so much market momentum right now? That's the point I made in the video: there may be too much, and it may not be aligned with the business value that generative AI can deliver. This is all about value alignment and using this technology to return the most value back to the business. This is where good AI architects are needed. Shoutout to my generative AI architecture students, who were required in the workforce yesterday. 3. If generative AI has jumped the shark, why are the big consulting firms building "massive practices?" I've run a few of those, so I can answer that with some authority. These firms align with what their clients are requesting, and right now, the studies being asked for are around the use of generative AI. I've seen the same in my practice, which will continue for some time, I suspect. In many instances, they deal with the same topic as the article, which is healthy. We're about to spend much money on this stuff and build power-hungry systems. It's good that we're looking at generative AI for all sides. That's really what I'm attempting to do here. 4. Are you asserting that we'll all shift to agentic AI, and away from generative AI? There are different types of AI that solve problems, with both positives and negatives for specific use cases. I do think that this is a heavy AI versus light AI type of argument. LLMs are hugely expensive to build and run, and most businesses don't need to build their own. Agents are lightweight autonomous distributed systems that, in many cases, are better suited for business cases that more enterprises have. Most businesses will employ AI for tactical purposes, using lightweight approaches with AI. Thus, they may provide lower-cost alternatives that will bring more value back to the company in some cases. Again, you have to consider what problems you're attempting to solve and back the right solutions to those problems. Sometimes, it will be GenAI, sometimes agentic AI; in many cases, AI is unnecessary. Sorry, people who want to put AI on their CV this year. :-) Hope this helps. Dave #GenerativeAI #AI #IToldYouSo
